Dark Star etc. makes one see the logic in...
Deadhead living. The only band that truly matters.

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we’ll check in on music from three very different eras in Grateful Dead history, 1973, 1984 and 1991.

Our first selection this week is from the exceptional show on 10/25/73 in Madison, WI, the Dead’s second stop at Dane County Coliseum in 1973, after the 2/15/73 show. This show took place in the middle of the second leg of the Dead’s Fall Tour of 1973, ten days after Wake Of The Flood was released. From the second set , we have China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider ; Me And My Uncle ; Dark Star > Mind Left Body Jam > Dark Star Jam > Eyes Of The World > Stella Blue.

Next is the entire second set from eleven years later, on 10/28/84 at Berkeley Community Theatre, where we have Terrapin Station > Playing In The Band > China Doll > Drums > Space > The Wheel > Throwing Stones > Not Fade Away.

Lastly this week, from 10/31/91 in Oakland, we have the entire first set of the final night of a four night run, featuring Help On The Way > Slipknot! > Franklin's Tower ; Little Red Rooster ; Loser ; Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues ; Let It Grow.

Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.

Stolzfus! Jerry is Soooooooo perfect in the outro to Stella, that long held note, short but so sweet! AH, I even got nothing to rag on at all, just bliss!

I enjoy working with my students, but I would love to get paid to enjoy this music. The cosmos says, "Serve your fellow humans", therefore, I teach. and listen to the GD when I can. This week's selections are choice. as they always are. Love ya, DaL!

It's all still going on, people are getting squashed up front. The Dead were doing the squashing on that night. Brilliant playing.
