alvarhanso - by my calculations, it has nothing to do w/contract
these were featured on SiriusXM November 2015 - the day of actual show or approximately for the program "Today in Grateful Dead History" practically everything that appears here or JOTW has been featured on Sirius at one point or another. There is a few gems that I have been waiting to resurface in this section. Sirius is crucial and my subscription has been on the fritz for a few months, but when I get it back it will be so sweet I think next week they may pile on more November 1972 material and maybe even some treats from Pauley Pavilion 1979 !!!!!

    Austin, Houston and Denver
I like all 3 featured shows this week: cowboy country! I'll listen to the Austin tunes now. Everyone should know the Playin' from 11/18/72 is legendary. Late 1973 may have been the band's peak, with the introduction of the Wake of the Flood songs and a couple from Mars Hotel. Thanks!

    Curious about these selections
The Jam of the Week and the Taper's Sections recently have been a lot of previously released material, I'm wondering if that's got anything to do with the Rhino contract. I was just listening to the Hofheinz Playing on the way to work, so I'll save that for the end of the day. But very interesting choices lately.

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this wee have music from 1971, 1972 and 1973, with a double dose of Texas Dead.

Our first selection this week is second set music from 11/15/71 in Austin, TX, featuring one of the all-time great versions of NFA>GDTRFB>NFA: Me and My Uncle, Ramble On Rose ; Mexicali Blues ; Brokedown Palace ; Me And Bobby McGee ; Cumberland Blues ; Sugar Magnolia ; You Win Again ; Not Fade Away > Jam > Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad> Not Fade Away, Johnny B Goode.

Next is a bit of a rarity here at the Tapers’ Section, a selection that consists of just one song. But what a song it is! One of the best versions of Playing In The Band the Grateful Dead ever performed, from 11/18/72 in Houston, TX.

Lastly this week is first set music from 11/20/73 in Denver, the first night of a terrific two night in the Mile High City, featuring Ramble On Rose ; Mexicali Blues ; Don't Ease Me In ; Black Throated Wind ; Brown Eyed Women ; Beat It On Down The Line ; To Lay Me Down ; The Race Is On ; They Love Each Other ; Me And Bobby McGee.

Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to come back next week for more music from the vault.
