    Hey Stoltzfus..
...I only saw about 12-15 shows in 79. Many I enjoyed immensely (Binghampton, Hollender Stadium, Cape Cod shows, jog my feeble memory.) In hindsight '79 also is, for my tastes at least, kinda the beginning of the end. I wonder which shows stand out for you?

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week, we’re going to check out three shows from the 1970s, from 1972, 1973 and 1979.

Our first selection is classic, perfect sequence from the outstanding Fall Tour of 1972, which featured great music at every stop. From Austin, TX, on 11/22/72, we have He's Gone > Truckin'> Drums> The Other One > Stella Blue.

From almost exactly a year later, in the same state, we have a nearly-identical sequence of music from 11/23/73 in El Paso, TX, featuring He's Gone > Truckin' > The Other One > Space > Me And Bobby McGee. It’s an interesting and cool twist at the end when they veer into Bobby McGee rather than a ballad after The Other One.

Lastly this week, from 11/24/79 in San Diego, we have the start of the show, featuring a very rare first set opener: China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider ; Mama Tried > Mexicali Blues ; Peggy-O ; Cassidy.

Be sure to stop in next week for more music from the vault.

12.03.79: a week and a few days later should be inducted into the library of congress as "This is the Sh**T. The second set faded my teenager freckles.... The Library of Congress is the nation’s first established cultural institution and the largest library in the world, with millions of items including books, recordings, photographs, maps and manuscripts in its collections.

Is an all-time favorite of mine. The Seamons matrix is worth seeking. This China>Rider is phenomenal and the Alabama>GSET that opens set 2 goes on forever. A really really high end show from a very underrated Fall 79 peak period.

11/05 - inverted Eyes -> Estimated -> Franklins!12/01 - entire 2nd set was smooth as silk and I prefer this arrangement of CC Rider over all of the rest that followed.
