    November 14 - November 20, 2016

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1970, and a double dose of the early 1980s, from 1981 and 1982.

Our first stop this week is on 3/1/70 at the Family Dog in San Francisco, where we have this terrific quartet of songs. The Dead always seemed to play a little more loosely at the Family Dog compared to other Bay Area shows produced by Bill Graham. From Chet’s venue, we have Casey Jones, Big Boy Pete, Morning Dew, Hard To Handle.

Next up is a classic early 80s second set opener, with the twin Garcia songs followed by the twin Weir songs from 3/10/81 at Madison Square Garden in New York City: Scarlet Begonias>Fire On The Mountain, Lost Sailor>Saint of Circumstance.

Lastly this week is the end of the second set from 3/13/82 in Reno, where we have The Other One > Black Peter > Around And Around > Good Lovin'.

Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.

I love every second of this. Journey to the center of the GD mind. Perfectly paced. Pass it around.
