opened for the GOGD at Portland Meadows in '95. Hadn't given it much thought but sort of a R & R mind bender. IWT.

Yeah its the real deal! In that China > Rider transition Jerry kicks it up a few finger picking notches and then he and Brent steer it to a very rare, post-hiatus visit to that beautiful Feeling Groovy(?) riff that was standard pre-hiatus. My favorite China > Rider from that era. A shining jewel! Yeah Healy's FOH(?) mix means Phil is way low at times - a real problem given he was kicking a** this show - but you do start to get a sense of where he's at in Set II (see e.g Space) Truly wild gorgeous Space > The Wheel. A sweet Playing Reprise into a monster Morning Dew. The SBD has its shortcomings but the show is absolutely top shelf. And oh yeah listening now to that Playing Reprise > Morning Dew ; )

Rumor has it from a friend of a friend is that Eric Bloom hasn't been doing well lately physically.
That same friend of a friend says there is a chance for a meet and greet with Buck Dharma prior to the show. So that's something to look forward to.
ZZ Top cancelled their Hollywood Bowl show. Frank Beard is not doing well apparently.

A 2 CD one. Attended by BC.
Mr. Norman makes apologies for the "shy of bass" cassette master. Seems a nice mix on my little bedroom system. Quite lively. Almost some audience echo sort of a PA matrix thing? Bet I have not heard this in years. Nice.
    Cheers

HENDRIXFREAK, I’m jealous you get to see two shows and hang out with some brothers. He played Sunday in Chicago, two sets at Garcia’s, a two pm matinee and a 7 pm set, but I couldn’t swing it. I will plan better, but I think you will love it. At one point I just closed my eyes and got levitation from the songs, and that is what music should do,
    Peace and blessings

Daverock, have you ever heard Johnny Wimter And live at the Filmore East 10/3/70? It came out in 2010 on Collector’s Choice and is just as good as the 71 live LP, it smokes even in the rain,
