    Anniversary show 6/17/75 Winterland

51 years ago I was up in S.F at Winter land for a really cool show with the Good old Grateful Dead. It was a benefit for poster artist Bob Fried. It was advertised as Jerry Garcia and friends. Keith & Donna Band and King fish also played. Kingfish really rocked! Then out came the Grateful Dead, and they opened with a killer version sion of Crazy Fingers. This show show would make a great official release. The tapes are in the vault. Hopefully they would include the set by Kingfish.

Shoulda gone to that one…new job, no time off yet.
Had to call in well from hotel lobby pay phone in Pittsburg as it was.
Couid have gone to Michigan with BOO469…except new job, ugh.
Did go to 4/8/89 being a Saturday—(was hoping maybe real release someday, but prolly not now : (
—with my buddies little sister. Idea was to drive back that Saturday night after…long/short ended up crashing in someones? room over in Kentucky with only enough floor space left for us. Had to climb over sleeping bodies etc. So 36 year old later logic being could have gone to 4/9, think tix were available, been a relative good boy, and pulled a Cassady back Sunday night and gone into new job late again on Monday lol But in reality, it was probably best we headed back Sunday AM…

Exactly perfect early summer evening at TreeHouse brewing, outdoor event. Outstanding air and sound quality, their extensive beer selection, pizza, food trucks along the outer perimeter. Four hour concert with intermission, iirc 11.16.78 show from Uptown Chicago. Many highlights, Black Peter for one example... second encore Piece of My Heart, bold taking on Janis. Next up, local jazz and bluegrass, then world class Django with Stephane Wrembel
