I have several friends who do the car collecting, they relate stories of collector's dying and the family sells stuff off ASAP, for pennies on the dollar. All the boxes of parts they've gathered thru the years can be tossed in trash. Family just happy to have garage back!
All my stuff is penciled in for my son. What he'll do with it, who knows. I point box sets out to him and say DON'T GIVE THIS AWAY, CHECK PRICES.
It's my digital collection I think about, 25 years in the making. Will he keep and order and backup? Will he add to it?
In the end, I'll be dead.
Such is the way of the collector!

I'm proud of you.
It's a real pain to sort anything. I still haven't finished my sort of cd's. Block sorting done by first letter, but need to sort every letter. Order is everything in a collection!
I'm working on a massive undertaking, creating a word file of every artist/album in my collection. I think it will end up being a 1800 page document. Lots of manual work.
So I understand what you've done.
Good work.

Pulling out the first 4 Bad Co albums today.
RIP, Mick. You've been released. Must have been a long 7 yrs in bed since stroking. Blessedly free now. Thanks so much for a major part of my teen soundtrack and a couple terrific shows especially Greatwoods on our second wedding anniversary 8/29/91, was an ass kicker.

This has of course the phenomenal 4th disc with guests but I have to say I prefer the 5-26-73 Kezar show for the overall energy and setlist. Not exactly heresy but more of a personal preference. Maybe it's because I have had really good tapes of Kezar for 30 years. Familiarity breeds favor in this case.
CheersEDIT: Whoa! RGM ALERT! This Thursday at 10am (pacific) RGM will release a 6-LP of Dick's Picks 4, the legendary 2-13, 14-70 Fillmore East shows. Just so's ya know. Good luck!
EDIT 2: Now doing 2-9-73 Maples Pavilion. Stuck in '73 today. The weather's fine.

Phish at the SNHU Arena, downtown Manchester, NH. The city closed down Elm Street for the vendor and party scene, most folks hung outside on a very warm summer evening until show time. Trey playing a new to him sister guitar he just picked up, calls Koa 1.5…. Back to their mid 90s set up, Page far left, Fish far right… excellent sound and the usual incredible lighting. That guitar was built locally after Koa 1, has been in the hands of a local Burlington jazz musician, Paul Asbell who was Trey’s teacher back in the day. One of those funny twists, saw Paul a few times playing that guitar.
