Saw Grateful Shred at the Fillmore in San Francisco with my daughter. Outstanding show. Incredible venue.

And finding lots of good stuff. This app might wind up saving me a lot of money. Because it has things like the Winterland 1977 box. I've been looking for a used copy for a long time, and I came thisclose to buying one for $400 the other day. So it's great to be able to cue that one up, along with some of the early Dave I missed out on, for "only" $100.

And then there's the previously unreleased stuff. Very cool to see there's a bunch of Bay Are shows from the '80s, some of which I was lucky enough to be in attendance. Although I think the fact that they're putting 2-3 of the Greek shows out this way, plus the one they put in ETR, probably means we're never getting the Greek box some of us have been dreaming about for years. Ah well.

All this does kind of make you wonder about the future release of physical media. If you know you can get the Dave's series via Play Dead, does the series stop selling? And then does it just ... stop?

I guess we'll find out, eventually. Meanwhile, I'm, enjoying the app.

....not as lucky as 17 black on roulette.
But who am I to judge?
    Edit.
Is there more acoustic 1970 Dead?
    Sweet spots.
Rare and difficult to find in the wild.

Was locked out my account for a while. Thanks to OB and Mary for helping me out.

Bought the Play Dead subscription yesterday. It is high res. Not all shows are the same however, but the ones I have looked at so far are 24 bit, which is higher than cd quality, which is 16 bit. Only problem, you need something that can play high res.
And it does not work with Sonos through Nugs, which I hope they will add.
Glasser mastered a bunch of these. First one I am going through in the car is 8/14/79 and it is great.

Never thought I would see Dave's Picks available for streaming, but here we are.

Right now I'm seeing 13 shows from 1970. Five of those are listed as "partial."
There's a Steve Hoffman Forum thread on the app that's already at 11 pages if you want to read more about it. Although, there's a good bit of discussion on bit rates, streaming systems, etc...

I really don't need another streaming service....

    ....on the other hand.
Is there a lot of 1970 in there????
    That may sway my decision.

Dead Drops from the Play Dead app. Early hiking in the CVNP and then a road trip to southern Ohio. Sound is impressive. Gonna be nice to have two new shows every week, on top of the bunch they posted right off the rip.
