Just received my copy of this release on Saturday. Bought it off eBay as I was waiting for it to go on sale on this site and it never did. I believe this was a record store day release in November 25.
All I have to say is Hell Yeah! This is great! They rock these acoustic sets and the sound quality again is so good. Great work. Feels like I am in the audience.
I don't believe these dates where in the original list of shows from the ABCD transaction. I know the October 9th and 10th dates were.
More from this run would be welcome!
If you don't have this, get it.

I was just listening to On the Corner myself. It's weird, because I hated that record when it came out. I thought it was some kind of joke. "What the hell happened to Miles?" was my reaction. Now I think it's one of the greatest things he ever did. I guess I just didn't feel the funk, back then. But I do now!

Also lots of random stuff from Play Dead. They just release a whole set of shows from spring '77, which is like adding 4-5 additional great ones to the Get Shown the Light box. Also some great mid-80s shows from the Greek. It's great fun, although it probably means these shows will not see a physical media release. Every silver lining has its touch of grey, you know.

Also: Sly! I still have the copy of Greatest Hits that I bought in junior high. And it's still the greatest.

Hard to go wrong with free!

Imagine if this was possible when we were kids/younger.

Back in my younger days, you'd borrow albums from people so you could copy to tape.

You can't buy everything. A lot of things I download I may not get around to REALLY listening to it, but I have it. Sometimes down the road, I rediscover these things and get into them. Other times people I know like and want a copy.

My one buddy used to sit up at night listening to the radio and hitting record on the deck to copy songs he heard. Still have copies of those tapes.

Grab and share,,,, it's a way of life.

Enjoy Portland, it's a cool place. There is a awesome music venue right on the water that I've visited several times (I've seen Goose there a handful of times over the past few years). Lots of great food and suds too if that's your thing. I bought a sweet 180g disc from Mexicali Blues with the GD inspired logo, love that thang.

John Mayer got ahold of all the Dave's Picks from Mark Pinkus (must be nice), so he was dipping in to those for his Grateful Dead Listening Party. Listened to that on our way to Portland. Jumped back in to Dick's 1 after that.
The waterfront here in Portland is awesome; dozens of bars, restaurants, and shops. One of the shops is called Mexicali Blues. Will have to check that out. Taking a lighthouse and harbor cruise later today.

On a bit of a jazz binge at the moment.
With the 100th anniversary of Miles birth coming up (26th May) I thought I’d work my way through what I have, that should take a while.
The Jeff Parker was recorded last August at the Lodge Room, Highland Park, Los Angeles. Sounds like a great concert.
