    LAST NIGHT

I had an extra ticket to Grateful Shred here in Vancouver last night. Took a buddy I met in China the first day Trump got elected-his infamous quote-"what have you Yanks done". The show was packed. The crowd 50% young and 100% electric. Very cool. The music was fantastic. A great time. Honestly, I was quite impressed how they played GD and Jerry material but as their own band. Impressive and great fun.

I’m laughing …… I’ll tighten my headband to get the maximum rush during Jerry’s guitar solo!

I/31 made me feel like I was on acid…2/1 not far behind.

After the most excellent 3/26 show a gaggle of us lower midwest heads were chilling in a motel room and played the what song do you want to hear tomorrow night game - my choice was To Lay Me Down. Jerry broke it out that next night (3/28) first time played since '83. Plus first of only two Bob Weir Thin Man's (freaking excellent). (I think) one friend recognized Jerry's So What "tease" before Sugar Mag. What a great run that was. Listening to the 3/28 CM Ultramatrix (don't have the DL).

Damn shame what happened to Todd Snider. I was wayyyyy into him, but the 3rd time I saw him (opener for Tedeschi-Trucks 2023/24) and he was drunk as shit. I was pissed, swore off him. Off course, not mad anymore, here's another great lyric by him

A beautiful warm sunny day here in Vancouver. A perfect day for GD. Thanks for reminding me about 5/27/88. This recording got me through some tough times when it was first released. I would like a better release of this one.

Just listened to the Marsh Family perform "If you are going to Minnesota " on WeChat from China. It put tears in my eyes. To think this is what our county has become. Good luck not getting emotional. It is on YouTube too.

3/19/66 decent, but perhaps not as good as 2/25 or 3/12?
    3/25/66 short n sweet
    5/19/66 good so far (Viola)

Download Series Volume 5. I love Jerry's gravelly voice on Stagger Lee. The line, "As Stagger Lee lit a cigarette, she shot him in the balls" always makes me smile.
    Haven't had a chance to rip Dave's 57 yet.
Stay warm everyone. Most ice coverage (95%), on Lake Erie to start February in 23 years.
