    6/23/88
I am not a big fan of 88, but 6/23/88 is good. I remember when I heard the Morning Dew for the first time (on cassette); that was cool.

    Love the Bloomington 88
I am really digging this first set from the Met Center 88. There are no sbd tapes of this show that I am aware in circulation, so its really cool to hear a sbd of a summer 88 show that's never been heard! I would love to see more shows like this in the tapers section, sets from the late 80's that are not widely in circulation, really makes it much more interesting and exciting! Thank you for this set! Please post many more like it! How about a chunk from Alpine Valley 1987 run? Those shows were SMOKING but there are no sbds in circulation. Pretty please!?! Thank you! -Schoney

Would like to know if they have a SBD in the vault that isn't ruined by the phase or flanger or whatever is going on throughout the version that circulates. If so it would be a great choice.

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have music from a four year span later in the Grateful Dead’s performing career, from 1987, 1988 and 1991.

Our first stop is on 6/14/87, the Dead’s last-ever appearance at the Venture County Fairgrounds north of Los Angeles. From the start of the second set, we have Scarlet Begonias> Fire On The Mountain ; Playing In The Band > Terrapin Station.

Next is first-set music from 6/17/88 in Bloomington, MN, the first show of the summer tour of 1988, featuring New Minglewood Blues ; Row Jimmy ; Far From Me ; When I Paint My Masterpiece ; Althea ; Victim Or The Crime. This is the first Grateful Dead performance of Victim Or The Crime, a song Bob had been playing in various live configurations in his solo career for a few years.

Lastly this week we have first set music from 6/16/91 at Giants Stadium, the first night of a two night run in New Jersey. Little Red Rooster ; Candyman ; Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again ; Stagger Lee ; Let It Grow. The second show of this run is understandably famous, as it’s an excellent show, but this first night also contains some terrific music.

Be sure the join us here next week for more music from the vault.
