The Deadcast begins our virtual tour of the new Enjoying the Ride box, visiting the cradle of the Dead in Palo Alto/Menlo Park (with a detour to visit the Warlocks’ earliest shows) before heading to San Francisco with stops at the Fillmore West and Winterland.

Enjoying the Ride: Bay Area, Part 1, supplementary notes
by Jesse Jarnow
During our episodes about the new Enjoying The Ride box set, we’ll be visiting the classic venues featured on the box. We’ve spent some time detailing their scenes and vibes in the past, though, including our episode about the Closing of the Fillmore West, “Black Peter” (detailing the story about the June 1969 show where the apple juice was mega-dosed), and “Ship of Fools” (hanging out at Winterland during the making of the Grateful Dead Movie).
Thanks to Light Into Ashes for the deep post about Songs The Warlocks Played.
We drew a few quotes from the very fun Jerry on Jerry audiobook from Hachette, as well as this 1988 episode of Deadhead TV.
