    Grateful Dead Hour no. 1225

    Week of March 12, 2012

    Featuring recent live performances by the Grateful Dead's drummers, Bill Kreutzmann (with 7 Walkers) and Mickey Hart. I've seen both bands live a few times, and both are making memorable music - new originals (with lyrics by Robert Hunter) and favorites from the Grateful Dead songbook. The Mickey Hart Band will release a new studio CD, Mysterium Tremendum, in a few weeks, and the eponymous debut CD of 7 Walkers has been out for a while now.

    Also included is a wonderful, joyous performance of "Goin' Down the Road Feelin' Bad" by Big Bill Broonzy. I found this on a "Roots of Bob Dylan" compilation.

    Enjoy!

    The music:

    Mickey Hart Band January 2012
    GOIN' DOWN THE ROAD FEELIN' BAD->
    I BID YOU GOOD NIGHT
    SUPERSONIC->
    THE OTHER ONE

    7 Walkers with Steve Kimock, January 2012 Jam Cruise
    BIRD SONG

    Big Bill Broonzy
    GOIN' DOWN THE ROAD FEELIN' BAD

    Every Wednesday, we post a program from the Grateful Dead Hour archives for your enjoyment and enlightenment. You can browse or search the playlists at gdhour.com or on the GD Hour Search page, and let me know what program(s) you'd like to hear by emailing me at gdhour@dead.net.

    Wow, now this is different. I hope that everyone will take advantage of this and enjoy it. I wonder why the comments are posting three times. Oh well, regardless of site issues, these are really great.

    Offering new music and new bands on this blog for newbies trying on some Grateful Dead music is a nice thing to do for the fans that might not get to see the newbies playing.

    2nd time in for this wonderful and just what I had needed jam. I sing GDTRFB regularly, stressing different parts of it accordingly. Every song was excellent 1st X through. I am certain this X will be better still. Thank you for your excellent work... as usual, it just keeps getting better. Rock On!

I am wondering if anyone else has the same problem I have streaming the GD Hour each week. The Windows Media option doesn't work at all for GD Hour, and when I use the Quicktime option I have terrible problems with buffering. I don't have any of these issues with Taper's Section or Jam of the Week. The Windows Media player works perfectly for the these 2 functions. I love listening to the episodes of GD Hour (when I can). Thanks to all you folks for having all this stuff available!! Any thoughts?
