    Grateful Dead Hour no. 1261

    Week of November 19, 2012

Second of five programs featuring the complete Furthur show of September 23, 2012 at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado. Apparently responding to a similar stunt by Phish in the same venue earlier in the summer, the first letters of the song titles spell out STEAL YOUR FACE, and the next song in the show was "He's Gone," which of course is the song that includes that phrase.

This and other Furthur performances are sold online (download or CD) by gnomesandhobbits.com. You can get the 9/23/12 show here.

Also featured in this show is a track from American Beauty, remixed by Mickey Hart in 2001 and just released (along with Workingman's Dead) as an audiophile download. I've been enjoying a new perspective on both these classic records!

Happy New Year to you, but I am feeling sorry for the crew running this site. The site is getting behind announced schedule regularly. On 1/1/2013 The front page still posts : Grateful Dead Hour no. 1261 Tapers Section December 17 - December 23, 2012 Jam of The Week October 19, 1972 - St. Louis, MO http://www.dead.net/features/jam-week/december-21-december-27-2012 is a dead link. The current page listings are: http://www.dead.net/features/gd-radio-hour/grateful-dead-hour-no-1261 is live, but gdh 1262 and 1263 are more recent offerings. http://www.dead.net/features/tapers-section/december-17-december-23-2012 is live, but http://www.dead.net/features/tapers-section/december-24-december-30-2012 was available last week and december 31-2012-january 6 2013 has not been posted yet. http://www.dead.net/features/jam-week/december-28-2012-january-03-2013 October 15, 1984 Hartford, CT The site administrators should want to keep the front page current and meet their announced schedule for new postings, but they do not seem able or perhaps desirous of doing so.
