    Grateful Dead Hour no. 15

    Week of December 12, 1988

    By request, a selection of songs from March 18, 1988. This was the last of eight shows in five weeks, which put something of a strain on relations between the Bill Graham Presents/Grateful Dead team and the local citizenry. More than a few freaks decided to hang out in the neighborhood for those three weeks in between the two GD runs. There were protests to the venue's board of trustees, and several of us Deadheads who were also Oakland homeowners came to a meeting both to defend our community and to promise the neighbors we'd police our scene.

    You can read a little about it in this article, which mentions the Minglewood Town Council. That's the name our little ad hoc group took for our efforts.

    Anyway, the music.

    Enjoy!

    Grateful Dead 3/18/88 Henry J Kaiser, Oakland CA

    BROWN-EYED WOMEN

    BIRD SONG

    THE MUSIC NEVER STOPPED

    DRUMS->

    SPACE

    WHEN PUSH COMES TO SHOVE

    MAN SMART, WOMAN SMARTER

    Every Wednesday, we post a program from the Grateful Dead Hour archives for your enjoyment and enlightenment. You can browse or search the playlists at gdhour.com or on the GD Hour Search page, and let me know what program(s) you'd like to hear by emailing me at gdhour@dead.net.

    How do I get to the past shows? Are Grateful Dead Hour and Taper's Section going to be only available for one week now? What about when I go on vacation?
