Every Friday we'll be sending you off with a Jam Of The Week, hand-picked and delivered by tape archivist David Lemieux. Listen to it on the weekend. Listen to it at work. Listen to it all day long...but make sure you tune in or you'll miss out because these little nuggets will stream for ONE WEEK ONLY!

Must have been a distracted listen.
I usually like early Brent.
Maybe I'll give it another try today.
Doing the Carol Countdown on CPR Classical this morning.
Onward.
Cheers

Edit - OK now I see what was going on. It kinda went downhill for me with a tepid Terrapin and I don't really care much for Sailor>Saint but it does end well with some fine Estimated noodling into Drums. I see that an attendee thought it was the best beginning to end show he had seen! High praise indeed.

Edit 2 - RGM this Thursday releasing DiP 5 from 12-26-79 in 5-LP vinyl! Will have to review that CD set after having had relistened to part of this Dec. '79 show.

I was just gently kidding. And I hadn't checked out the reviews. But now, there's a review I want to highlight from Tar Hale on one of the Charlie Miller SBDs shnid 103092) - 2 things stood out in his memory: quote - "Terrapin Station was spectacular. Jerry standing in the green lighting and haze while singing in the shadows of the moon." 2) Bill Walton was there!! Sailor > Saint has really grown on me over the years. Mix would benefit from having a touch or two more of Jerry's guitar. Phil's bass on Shakedown is right smack dab in the sweet spot. I'm going to check out some of the rest of the show, like the Set I closer of China > Rider.

Edit - checked the set list for the previous night of this 2 show stand at Soldiers and Sailors and Set I ends with Dancing > Franklin's > Looks Like Rain > Deal??!! Shades of Cape Cod! "Winter's here but the time is right for Dancing in the Streets"!! Circulating SBD isn't nearly as clean as 12/11. Huge Set II on paper.
