Every Friday we'll be sending you off with a Jam Of The Week, hand-picked and delivered by tape archivist David Lemieux. Listen to it on the weekend. Listen to it at work. Listen to it all day long...but make sure you tune in or you'll miss out because these little nuggets will stream for ONE WEEK ONLY!

i was probably referencing the August '80 run right before the first Alpine show. But yes this show and the night before maybe also in that woulda coulda shoulda basket. (Edit - On further thought I could not have made it to the 5/78 shows). If you want to really stretch what was possible I seriously think one of my grade school classmates saw 2/9/73 International Amphitheatre (this was 7th or 8th grade?), 11/1/73 McGaw Hall, 7/24/74 International Amphitheatre and probably the 6/76 and 5/77 Auditorium shows. Interesting story, someday I hope to talk to him about that. And yeah '78 kicks ass!

A very fine JOTW. Didn't realize until now that the first 4 songs - Scarlet > Fire, El Paso (in the 2nd set!), Ship of Fools - do not circulate as a soundboard. The only portion of a circulating SBD source for whole show picks up at Estimated > He's Gone (great version!). Dreamy S > F transition! The second set slot for El Paso is second of only 2 post hiatus (other is 4/29/77 Palladium).

This pairs nicely with the first set of the next night 5/17 which is currently the third of 3 shows on the this weeks Tapers Section.
