    Come one, come all! Join us as we boogie down the aisles of your local moving picture house for the 6th Annual Meet-Up At The Movies. This year's special cinema event is a bona fide classic - the previously unreleased Grateful Dead concert from Sullivan Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts on July 2, 1989. Catch the Dead in fine form, kicking off their summer tour to a sold-out crowd of more than 60,000 fans, and pulling out surprises at every turn - from the rare show-opener “Playing In The Band” to the only time they ever started a second set with “Friend Of The Devil.” The concert also includes a spectacular performance of “Wang Dang Doodle,” one of the band’s finest sing-along versions of “Tennessee Jed,” two Bob Dylan covers (“Queen Jane Approximately” and “Quinn The Eskimo”) along with a medley of Traffic’s “Dear Mr. Fantasy” segued into the Beatles’ “Hey Jude.” Not to mention a sequence that will bring you back to the Dead circa 1973: "Truckin'"> "He's Gone"> "Eyes Of The World."

    And if that's not enough, we've got an exclusive interview with Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux on the making of the upcoming 12-disc July 1978: The Complete Recordings boxed set as well as previously unseen performance footage from Dead & Company.

    "Grateful Dead Meet-Up at the Movies: Sullivan Stadium 7/2/89" will only be playing on the silver screen for one night! Come out and connect with Dead Heads in your neighborhood on Wednesday, May 11th at 7:00pm local time.

    Re sound quality
    Interesting as the SBD I have does not have the vocal issues mentioned. Wonder what the audio feed was?

    Groovy!
    Had a groovy time in Oklahoma City last night for the movie meet up. The theater was a little over half full and had one guy dancing freely on the floor. I wanted to dance with him so bad, but kept getting distracted by this echo that kept permeating Bobby and Jerry's vocals. It was pretty intense - the echo factor. It started 3-4 songs in and finally went away after they came back for The Mighty Quinn. The beginning didn't have any audio and the theater still had the lights up. Someone had to go tell the staff it had started. We all missed the beginning interview up until about a minute left to go before the show started. They guy who told the staff came back in (to a silent, grumpy theater) and said a bunch of teenagers were running it. I can't help but wonder if they were the reason the echo was so bad...maybe they were messing around with the audio? Anyway, aside from all that, a groovy time was had by all!

    Great Meet-Up
    Really had a splendid time at the screening last night. A good turnout of several dozen folks at the Riverside in Reno with a bit o' dancing and plenty of clapping. Biggest ovation was for the first iso of Brent. The vocal interplay at the end of He's Gone was tremendous and the unique set openers were treats of the highest order. Naturally the hometown crowd approved of the first line in Friend of the Devil!
