Week of April 25-May 1, 2022
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from the 1980s, hitting early, mid, and late in the decade.
First up is the end of the first set from 7/7/81 in Kansas City, a five song run from Bob’s and Jerry’s respective solo output from the 1970s, featuring Lazy Lightning> Supplication ; Bird Song > Looks Like Rain> Deal.
From opening night of the Dead’s three night Greek Theatre in 1984, on 7/13/84, we have this very cool sequence of Scarlet Begonias>Touch Of Grey>Fire On The Mountain, Man Smart (Woman Smarter)..
Next is the end of the first set from the Dead’s first trip to Deer Creek, on 7/15/89, featuring Peggy-O ; Queen Jane Approximately ; We Can Run ; Bird Song.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
