Week of January 24-30, 2022
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we’re going to check out some Grateful Dead music from 1977, 1981, and 1984.
Our first selection this week is first set music from 4/25/77 in Passaic, NJ, opening night of a three night run, where we have Mama Tried; They Love Each Other; Looks Like Rain; Peggy-O ; Lazy Lightnin' > Supplication ; Ship Of Fools ; Estimated Prophet; Brown Eyed Women.
Next up is the start of the second set from 5/1/81 in Hampton, VA, where we have Feel Like A Stranger > Franklin's Tower> Lost Sailor> Saint Of Circumstance. This was almost exactly a year after the release of Go To Heaven, and this sequence features three of the standouts from that underrated album.
Lastly this week is the end of the first set and start of the second set from 4/24/84 in New Haven, featuring My Brother Esau; Ramble On Rose ; It's All Over Now> Don't Ease Me In, China Cat Sunflower>I Know You Rider.
