Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where we wrap up the first month of 2021 with Grateful Dead music from 1974, 1984, and 1987.
Our first selection this week is from 7/25/74 in Chicago, where the Dead played this classic 1974 batch of music through the Wall Of Sound: Loose Lucy ; Black Throated Wind ; Loser ; Beat It On Down The Line ; Sugaree ; Mexicali Blues.
Next up is the first se from 7/21/84 at Ventura County Fairgrounds in Ventura, CA, where we have Shakedown Street ; Little Red Rooster ; Althea; Me And My Uncle> Mexicali Blues; China Cat Sunflower> I Know You Rider; Looks Like Rain; Might As Well. That’s a very rare mid-first China>Rider.
Lastly this week is the end of the show from 6/30/87 at Kingswood Music Theatre near Toronto, where my second Grateful Dead show featured this fine batch of music: Space> The Other One > China Doll > Dear Mr. Fantasy > Around And Around > Good Lovin' , Box Of Rain.
