Week of January 5-11, 2026
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from three great early 1970s years in a row, 1971, 1972, and 1973.
Our first stop this week is on 11/15/71 in Austin where we have the first set, which includes a rare first set Dark Star: Truckin’ ; Bertha; Playing In The Band ; Deal ; Jack Straw ; Loser ; Beat It On Down The Line ; Dark Star > El Paso > Space> Jam ; Casey Jones; One More Saturday Night.
Next is the excellent second set jam sequence from 11/17/72 in Wichita, where we have Truckin’ > The Other One> Brokedown Palace.
Lastly this week is the bulk of the first set from 11/21/73 at the Denver Coliseum, featuring this great, classic 1973 sequence of Me And My Uncle ; Sugaree ; Jack Straw ; Dire Wolf ; Black Throated Wind ; Big Railroad Blues ; Mexican Hat Dance Tuning ; Mexicali Blues ; They Love Each Other ; Looks Like Rain; Here Comes Sunshine.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.

Getting closer to the thousandth.
This is Taper's Section #998
Dave's 11 (11-17-72)
Now that's an Other One!
Keith.... wow.
Cheers
And this Road Trips bit from '73 is nice.
The 1st set Dark Star too!
What's not to like this week.
Interesting things...
Yeah! Wow, almost the 1000th tapers week. What a trip, ya know (off subject) SNL is getting real close to 1000 episodes if they haven't hit the mark already.
Another neat thing, I immediately noticed was not only Denver 1973 but the Austin 1971 as some prior Road Trips. Its fresh on my mind since recently purchasing some Trips & Pick's from Real Gone Music. Though I didn't recognize the Dave's series selection from 1972 for that was before my subscribing but I am glad some one mentioned it. I thought that date was kinda familiar. All Grate selections indeed!
