Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1973, 1979, and 1981.
Our first selection this week is from 12/1/73 in Boston, the middle night of a three night run at the Music Hall, featuring Playing In The Band > Uncle John's Band > Playing In The Band ; Row Jimmy. This show is not featured on Dick’s Picks Vol. 14, which was drawn from the first and third nights.
Next is the end of the show from 11/29/79 in Cleveland, where we have this fairly typical for the era, and excellent, sequence of Black Peter > Around And Around > Johnny B. Goode , US Blues.
Lastly this week, from Madison, WI, on 12/3/81, we have the end of the first set and the start of the second set. The final song, Fire On The Mountain, cuts due to the master reel ending: Beat It On Down The Line> Cassidy; Deep Elem Blues; I Need A Miracle > Bertha, Scarlet>Fire On The Mountain.
