Week of July 27-August 2, 2020
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1970, 1971, or 1990.
Our first selection this week is from 2/23/70 in Austin, TX, just a few days before the Dead recorded Workingman’s Dead back home in San Francisco. From Austin, we have Me And My Uncle, Black Peter, Seasons Of My Heart> Uncle John's Band, Not Fade Away > Mason's Children.
Next is music from the final night of the six night run at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY, on 2/24/71, featuring Bird Song; Me And Bobby McGee ; Bertha; Hard To Handle ; Loser.
Lastly this week is the bulk of the first set from 2/25/90 in Oakland, the first show of a great musical year in the Dead’s history, featuring Little Red Rooster ; Stagger Lee ; Queen Jane Approximately ; The Last Time ; Cassidy ; Deal.
Be sure to join us here next year for more music from the vault.
