Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we’ll stick around in the Brent Mydland era, with Grateful Dead music from 1984, 1988, and 1990.
Our first stop this week is the end of the first set and the second set opening Scarlet, which cuts off on the master cassette, from 6/29/84 at Blossom Music Center: Hell In A Bucket ; West L.A. Fadeaway ; The Music Never Stopped > Don't Ease Me In, Scarlet Begonias.
Next up is the first set from 6/26/88 at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena where we have Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodleloo > Little Red Rooster ; When Push Comes To Shove ; Mama Tried > Big River ; Cumberland Blues; Gentlemen Start Your Engines; Big Railroad Blues ; The Music Never Stopped, including the first of only two live performances of Brent’s Gentlemen Start Your Engines.
Lastly this week is another full first set, this one from 6/24/90 in Eugene, featuring Help On The Way > Slipknot! > Franklin's Tower ; When I Paint My Masterpiece ; Loose Lucy ; Just A Little Light ; Picasso Moon ; Candyman ; Let It Grow.
