Three Playin' s
Invites comparison, lol.
English class, compare & contrast.
So far '77 beats '80. We'll see.
May have been influenced by listening to some of the better stuff from the Dead Set earlier. This '80 clip just less energy?
Cheers
OK, this '94 is intriguing. Thought my innate era bias would ugg it's rearly head but this is just more interesting than the '80 one. And the whole thing >UJB>Jam (Vince is amazing here) is smooth. Oh, and it's got a Cumberland. Just a toss up now so enjoy them all!
I concur
The 94 show Vince fits like a glove and the band is firing on all cylinders. Starts off real trippy sounding or just and odd tempo they work into their famous rhythmic beat that we wish never ended. 77 listening has more energy and the 80's shows highlights that the truck with all the cash pulled up and the Dead were on their own. 94 though has the sound Jerry always was chasing down after Brent's untimely passing. sadly jerry followed brents footsteps as he was getting the sound that just came out. not the little black dots on the sheet of music. Sux that 95 was not a repeat of the 94 Spectrum along with quite a few Hot shows. I was fortunate to hang with Vince from 90 to 93 when I had access. Such a sweet soul. How many musicians did Jerry get the most of of they could not find themselves without Jerrys guiding hand. Yeah, Phil too. He was the behind the scenes teacher. And of course Bill the drummer. Bill gave everyone a run for their money. The funniest is Bobby. Gets a hand slap for being to folksy. 2 years later they are playing the soft folksy sound. Workingman's Dead and American Beauty. The moral. Do what you want. It will work out in the end.
