    Sorry Dave!
We had a weird opposite experience that night in Rochester. We made a wrong turn out of the War Memorial and wound up in a pretty chippy neighborhood. We didn't get mugged- we found over $200 wadded up on the sidewalk. Took us to the Meadowlands and all the way home to Maine.

The band played a two-nighter at the War Memorial: 11/7-8/85. What happened in Ottawa, Dave?

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this we have Grateful Dead music from 1979, 1980 and 1985.

Our first selection this week is from 11/10/79 in Ann arbor, MI, where we have this long, and excellent, sequence from the start of the second set: Alabama Getaway > The Promised Land ; Ship Of Fools ; Samson And Delilah; Terrapin Station > Playing In The Band.

Next is the April Fool’s show from 4/1/80 in Passaic, NJ, where we have the start of the show, featuring this double Promised Land, the first of which is the Dead’s April Fool’s joke during which everyone in the band played each others’ instruments: Promised Land ; Promised Land ; Candyman; Me And My Uncle> Big River.

Next is the entire second set from the second show at the Rochester War Memorial, the Dead’s last-ever show there: Revolution ; Estimated Prophet > Eyes Of The World > Drums > Space > The Other One > I Need A Miracle > She Belongs To Me > Sugar Magnolia, Satisfaction. This was my 15th birthday, which I spent in Ottawa, and was mugged that night. But, that’s another story…

Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.

Proud to steal her everything she needs, Jerry must of been channeling your mugging Dave during space. Loved those Dylan songs where Jerry would seem to pick 1000 notes during each jam.

Thanks for the whole second set! Drums/Space is such a unique thing to the Dead experience. Lots of the '85's have that balafone sound during drums, too. Super fun! Thanks again

Was at this show. 8th row center at the good old grungy Capitol Theater in Passaic NJ... I have some photos that I shot and I've sent to Dead Net of the band opening. (Never published here...come on guys...). Weir on Keyboards, Bill on lead, Mickey strumming bass, Phil on Rhythm, Brent & Jerry on drums and a Roadie's ass adjusting monitors on stage... Crowd was very pleased. Great night.
