Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we’ll check out some Primal Dead followed by a double dose of 1980s Dead.
Our first stop is at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco on 10/13/68, where we have this classic sequence of Dark Star> Saint Stephen> The Eleven> Death Don't Have No Mercy.
Next up is a long and inspired sequence that opened the second set on 10/14/84 at the Hartford Civic Center: China Cat Sunflower> I Know You Rider> Samson And Delilah ; High Time; Estimated Prophet> Eyes Of The World > Space.
Lastly this week is the first set from Bob’s Birthday show on 10/16/88 in St. Petersburg, FL, where we have Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodleloo ; Good Times Blues ; Feel Like A Stranger ; Friend Of The Devil ; Stuck Inside of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again ; To Lay Me Down ; Don't Ease Me In.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
