Week of May 25-31, 2020
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from the Brent era, from 1981, 1988, and 1989.
Our first selection this week is the end of the first set from the excellent New Haven show on 5/11/81, where we have It's All Over Now; Althea; Lazy Lightning> Supplication; Don't Ease Me.
Next is the start of the second set from 12/29/88 in Oakland, with a very cool jam coming out of Samson and Delilah heading to the Playing Reprise: Playing In The Band > Crazy Fingers > Samson and Delilah > Playing In The Band Reprise > Eyes Of The World.
Lastly this week is the start of the second set from almost a year later, on 12/27/89 also in Oakland, featuring another Playing>Crazy Fingers. This second set opens with Clarence Clemons sitting in. From this great show we have Iko Iko; Playing In The Band> Crazy Fingers > Uncle John's Band> Drums.
Be sure to stop in next week for more music from the vault.
