Week of May 26-June 1, 2025
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we’ll check out some Grateful Dead music spamming 20 years, 1969 to 1989.
Our first stop this week is in Colorado Springs in 7/3/69, where we have this trio of songs that show a couple of sides of the Grateful Dead, from hard charging rock and blues to a beautiful, dynamic He Was A Friend Of Mine: Hard To Handle ; He Was A Friend Of Mine ; Turn On Your Lovelight.
Next is the start of the first set from 7/5/81 at the Oklahoma City Zoo, where we have Shakedown Street ; Promised Land; Candyman; Cassidy; Brown Eyed Women.
Lastly this week is the end of the show from 7/2/89 at Foxboro, the Summer Tour of 1989 opening show: Space>The Wheel>Dear Mr. Fantasy>Hey Jude>Sugar Magnolia, Quinn The Eskimo.
Be sure to stop by next week for more music from the vault.

"spamming" ?
I think Dave meant spanning, lol.
Listened to that Colo. Spgs. show last year.
Was not impressed, and it was a Charlie Miller.
Certainly an interesting set list.
Guess I'll see if it is as bad as I recall.
I think it was in a horse arena.
Short show with many bands on the bill including Zepher with Tommy Bolin.
Cheers
