Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1972, 1978, and 1989, three mighty fine years in the Dead’s performing career.
Our first selection this week is from Autsin, TX, on 11/22/72, featuring first set music: Sugaree ; Mexicali Blues; Loser; Black Throated Wind ; China Cat Sunflower> I Know You Rider ; Beat It On Down The Line ; Candyman ; El Paso ; Bird Song; Playing In The Band.
Next up we have the start of the second set from 2/4/78 in Milwaukee, the fifth show of a six night Midwest run of excellent shows, featuring Samson And Delilah; Dupree's Diamond Blues; Dancing In The Street> Terrapin Station> Playing In The Band.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.

2-4-78 It's Like DejaVu All Over Again
Like last week's Jam of the Week from this run of shows, I feel like I know this from somewhere. And HeyZeus this is hot! Jerry noodles around the first solo in Samson then look out! From there on this is as good as it gets for me. As soon as he starts with the wah-wah pedal sound in Dancin' I know he is going to tear it up. Great fun. Cheers
DP 18 Material
Dupree's on DP18 Disc 1 is culled from 2-4-78. Just confirmed it on DeadDisc. If you want to check this week's Taper's material, tune into last week. The new stuff's there, if that makes sense. It's Deja Vu all over again. :-)
How about that PITB! Let's just blow away all the others I've listened to recently. New appreciation for '72.
