Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1969, 1973, and 1990.
Our first stop is in Napa County at the Dream Bowl in Vallejo, CA, on 2/22/69, where we have this interesting sequence if Doin' That Rag> St. Stephen> The Eleven > Turn On Your Love Light> Drums>Turn On Your Love Light, with Doin’ That Rag subbing in for the usual Dark Star.
Next is music from 2/21/73 in Champaign-Urbana, IL, where we have this batch of classic early 1973 Dead: Wave That Flag ; Me And My Uncle ; Brown Eyed Women ; Beat It On Down The Line ; Loser ; Looks Like Rain ; Row Jimmy ; You Ain't Woman Enough ; Box Of Rain ; Mexicali Blues ; Sugaree.
Lastly this week is the bulk of the first set from the first show of 1990 on 2/25/90 in Oakland, where we have Little Red Rooster ; Stagger Lee ; Queen Jane Approximately ; The Last Time ; Cassidy ; Deal, including the first live Grateful Dead performance of The Last Time.
