Week of September 6-12, 2021
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have music from three distinct periods in the Grateful Dead’s history.
Our first selection this week is from Madison, WI, on 10/25/73, just 10 days after the release of Wake Of The Flood and their second visit to Madison in 1973 (the first was 2/15/73), where we have El Paso; Row Jimmy, Playing In The Band.
Next is the end of the show from the penultimate performance of the first leg of the Spring Tour of 1978, on 4/22/78 in Nashville, where we have Not Fade Away > Wharf Rat > Sugar Magnolia, One More Saturday Night.
Lastly this week is the end of the show on 12/9/89 at the Forum in LA, where we have this classic 1989 sequence of Space>Dear Mr. Fantasy>Hey Jude>Turn On Your Lovelight, Knockin' On Heaven’s Door.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.

2/15 & 10/25 would make a terrific 1973 box set.
