    DISC 2 EYES
I don't claim to be an expert, and I have not listened to as many shows as some of you. Ok, with that said, the Eyes version here on Disc 2 is one of the most addictive versions I have ever heard. It's certainly not the best version I have heard ( 1 from Vault 1975 is best in my opinion). But Bob's rhythm chords and noodling (I think guitar players call this voicings) is absolutely addictive, and I can't get it out of my head. His playing is very catchy. I don't remember Bobby playing the rhythm exactly like this on other versions I have heard. Listen to his playing at 1:00 through 1:15 and 3:00 through 3:15 minutes as examples. As a late 80s' head, I am so dang frustrated that Bobby ditched his hollow-bodied Gibson guitars in the early 80s and used solid-bodied guitars with distortion for the rhythm tone of the Dead. It just clashed with Jerry's clean tone. "I do believe in spooks, I do believe in spooks, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do"--Lion Wizard of Oz

I only pointed this "speck" out because of a personal experience I had. Basically the data is burned to the bottom side of the coating on the top of the CD. There is a protective cover/film on the bottom side of the CD but there is no protective coating on the top. If you scratch off the top of the CD (the side where you write on with a marker), you are putting holes in your data. I accidentally scratched off some of the top side of a CD once, and it would no longer play. "I do believe in spooks, I do believe in spooks, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do"--Lion Wizard of Oz

I got it and will mail to Dead Man Telling Tales. I also made 5 extra color copies of set-lists (CD covers). Notes: CD #2 has a small black speck about 1/4" from the center hole. It is visible on the top and bottom side. I had no problems playing or copying but it is something to watch. This speck likely affects the first long track--Playing in the Band--based on its distance from the hole as the CD burns from the center out. Basically the speck is a small hole on the top of the CD where the surface has scratched off but it is visible on the bottom side too. It's microscopic so you may not even see it. I am a stickler for detail so I tend to find these things. It's not anything I did or even Markinthedark--but a cosmetic flaw. Again, I had no problems playing or copying. I did not notice any glitches on the first track. "I do believe in spooks, I do believe in spooks, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do"--Lion Wizard of Oz

Hi, The Roscoe Maples Pavilion 2/9/73 vine reseed is on its way to Exploratory Data Analysis. I've included three copies of the setlist covers, so naturally a fourth person has signed up. If somebody (#11, 12 or 13) has a color copier please make an extra copy so arkdeadhead will get a set, or, if arkdeadhead has a color printer I can make scans and send them to you. Let me know. Enjoy! MarkintheDark ********************************************* I have a sigfile! --> www.kindveggieburritos.com *********************************************

2-9-73 Rosco Maples, Palo Alto Calif. This is a repost of the Roscoe Maples Pavilion show at Stanford University in 2-9-73. It had a early prototype of a "Wall Of Sound" that would be featured in later tours, although much of it was blown out by show's end. The breakouts on this show include first performances of SEVEN Jerry tunes, (noted * below) including the glorious Eyes of the World as well as others. (the source is soundboard> ) 1. Oroboros 2.143or245 3. Good evening my brother and thanx for the heads up on Egypt and Rosco Maples 143or245 stay safe and feel good!

I had received this vine last Thursday but was swamped with work. (Major server crash) So they sat here on the desk until now. When I opened the package from Kim, I was blown away with the love that someone put into this show. WOW. The discs are packaged in there own jewel cases, each with unique art work and set lists. Very nice. Thanks to DOODah for the seeds and thanks the rest of you for the love of the music. The discs are copied, packaged and waiting to move on down the line. Who is next? Be peaceful, be grateful, be gentle, be generous and be happy. Life is good. Rick maples palo alto 1. Oroboros 2.143or245 3.kim 4. Ltapilot 5. 6. 7. 8.

The debuts for Loose Lucy, Here Come Sunshine, Eyes of the World, China Doll & Wave That Flag are all here, too. I have this on tape and it was an amazing show that I listened to often- so often that the tape is shot and I'd love a copy if someone can burn one or however y'all do it- I am so techno-challenged it's a shame. I had many great road trips listening to this in my car heading out from the East Coast on tour. What a great gift for my 45th birthday-7 days ago.... How do I get on a list?

Gooner was the end point of about 4 different vines - all sent back in February and gone down the black hole of gooner - never to be seen again. If he actually sends this off to Ami, then I'd be amazed - but I fear that this vine too, ends with gooner. 1. Oroboros 2.143or245 3.kim 4. Ltapilot 5. Hunter 6. DeadHead85 7. No, Hippy, that is not the correct list. Stuman effed it up when he copied and pasted, he must have copied from a different vine. Go to earlier posts and you will see that ltapilot and 143or245 were on earlier posts in a different order and I believe already received this vine. Also, iknowurder and brewsterboy never signed up. Row Timmy was the last person to receive this vine and he isn't even on the list above. This is the correct order of people LEFT on this vine. (1) dstache (2) joneb (3) stuman (4) That Nice Hippy Guy

The fact that this vine is somewhat screwed up is partially my fault. There was no one listed after me when I was done wioth it so I asked if anyone else needed. Row Timmy spoke up but never copied and pasted the list with his name and then joneb did the same thing. I should have asked Row Timmy to make sure he continued the vine posting process instead of our less formal communication. Lesson learned, sorry.
