The Trump-appointed judge out west did the right thing and immediately stopped the federalization of the National Guard to send to Portland. What does the Biden-appointed judge who got the Illinois/Chicago case do? Doesn't issue an emergency order and says she has to read the materials first, meanwhile Texas NG are deployed. Good f'in luck getting them out of your state!

This is like Merrick Garland sitting on the Jan. 6 case against trump for two years. An emergency for the nation is happening, the people perpetrating the atrocities DO NOT CARE about following procedure and 'norms.' Extreme times call for extreme measures and that judge needed to immediately look at the basic facts and rule accordingly.

I was just in Chicago a couple weeks ago and visit several times a year-- it is a great city where you can generally get through 95% of it without incident. Give the big cities the resources to take care of the big crime areas and they will take care of it.

The Senate oversight hearings are a joke-- these appointees will not answer Democrats pointed questions, but just deflect, deflect and deflect by slinging shit like monkeys at the zoo. Awful people.

One good thing happening right now-- I am a long-suffering Milwaukee Brewers fan and we are up 2-0 on the Cubs in the NLDS. Hoping this is the year.

We investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing.

There is a legal term for that.. it's called corruption. Especially when dubious answers are provided at a Senate hearing.

Ask where Bob Menendez is right now. He is in Federal prison in Schuylkill, Pennsylvania. He was investigated by a democratic administration and they sentenced him to 11 years in federal prison for bribery.

Homan allegidly recevied $50,000 in a brown paper bag allegedly for special consideration for future Government contracts in the next (current) administration. The transaction was taped. It smells like bribery, tastes like bribery and sounds like bribery yet they swept this under the carpet because he is an FOD (Friend of D*****)

Where is the $50,000 that was handed to Tom Homan in a paper bag and did he claim this income on his 2024 tax return. Also, is this a crime or not? Clearly this is not ok and a serious and real investigation should be performed, the taxpayer money returned and if a crime occurred, he should be charged and prosecuted. If convicted, he should face fair punishment and (hopefully, fingers crossed) not be pardoned. It's not that difficult.

Where is the $50,000. Why is the administration covering up this and the Epstein crimes.
Release the Epstein files. Find the $50,000 in taxpayer money and proceed according to applicable federal laws. This is an outrage.

There's video floating already of troops on the streets of Chicago. Wearing tactical gear with faces covered by bandanas and masks, carrying military assault weapons, they seem to be walking around asking people quesitons, stopping cars and what seems to be demanding people not record them even when no crimes are being committed. They would not identify themselves, only reference the 4 digit number on their tactical uniforms.

Imagine how you would feel seeing a military presence in your neighborhood as you try to carry out your daily duties. I bet most people would stay indoors and avoid this at all costs.

Imagine what this is doing to tourism, to business, to restaurants, to anything.

This is different, this is not who we are. Get up, stand up. Stand up for your rights. Do this peacefully, obey the law, be accurate, be non-violent.

So all of this is just (edit: MALIGNANT) 'post-Constitutional' theatrics being carried out by people who are already in clear violation of their oaths of office/service ...

I'll go a step further and say if it were 1776 they would be the red coats among us, saying things like "but, but George's troops keep us safe!" and "George will give us representation eventually, just give him some time to make it work." The Orange Stain said yesterday - and anyone can look this up - there's no reason to be a good person...

The exact quote is: "You know, there’s no reason to be good. I wanna be good because you wanna prove to God you’re good so you go to that next step, right? So, that’s very important to me. I think it’s really, very important."

THIS IS OUR PRESIDENT

He can't even say the quiet part quietly anyone.
He doesn't have even a shred of decency, humanity, or empathy in his soulless body.
And THIS is what his MAGAT followers aspire to.
To be as absolutely shitty to anyone and everyone as humanly possible.
And OF COURSE, kindness can ONLY be transactional so he can go see some made-up Sky Daddy at the end of his miserable existence. (hint - he ain't goin to no sky, he's going to the depths of hades if there is anything of the sort)

Clearly the Golden Rule means nothing nor does kindness, decency, respect or any of the things that would ever bring us together.

He must go.

He is supported by "Christians"
How can he talk about "God" when he is the polar opposite of what "God" is supposed to be about?

In the best book of all time, "1984", there is a term "doublethink".

That is exactly what we have here.

OPPRESSION IS LIBERTY
LYING IS TRUTH
AUTOCRACY IS DEMOCRACY

God damn you, DT.

You are evil, through and through.

Where healthcare premiums for many are more than doubling so we can funnel tax breaks to billionaires like Mark Zuckerberg so he can finally get that gold plated, ivory back scratcher he always wanted.

Anyway, while we strap it to the middle and lower class we are sending a $20 Billion dollar rescue package to Javier Gerardo Milei and the people of Argentina. The money is supposed to stabilize the Argentinian peso, because, well.. another dictator needs help, and you know these dictators, they like to remove the independence of their central banks, in our case the Federal Reserve, and turn them into cash machines for their dictators. An unfortunate side-effect can be a massive devaluation of your currency and run-away inflation, but no bother, he needs our help, and they need your hard-earned money. Sounds familiar right, because our dear leader is doing the same thing with our Federal Reserve, stacking it with loyalists. Back to dictators needing help. first Bolsonaro from Brazil for getting indicted for their January 6th, now Milei. But they are loyal friends, what are you going to do?

So we are sending a $20 billion bailout to Argentina while at the same time slashing money from our healthcare system so we can give tax breaks to the uber wealthy. Because, well, President Milei needs another chainsaw, he left his last one with Elon musk when he helped kick off DOGE at CPAC in February.

I guess when you break it down this way it makes perfect sense. Nothing wrong with having three jobs and going without healthcare, it builds character.

That's at least the 3rd time in as many months that The Turd has spoken of his mortality. Gives me hope, lol. And then there's the theory that he is incognito and not doing his constant tweeting once every 28 days. The theorists contend he is getting tested monthly for some malady. is exactly what - per the Turd - the "tariff money I can spread around" constitutes. The fact that he claims (merely for effect?) he will give money to fund WIC does not make it Constitutional in any way.

In The Midnight Hour... The sky was yellow and the sun was blue, strangers stopping strangers just too beat them down!

Lots of conflict in Chicago; while the people are behaving peacefully, the same cannot be said of ICE. They are looking for conflict where none exists. They are manhandling law-abiding people, tossing them on the pavement like rag dolls, threatening to arrest others. These things are in violation of the law. They are ignoring our constitutional right to assemble peacefully.

Reporting shows there are serious discussions in the orange stain administration of invoking the Insurrection Act of 1807. To be clear, there is no insurrection, no legitimate justification that supports this measure. This, folks, is radical. If this happens, he will have dragged us all over a cliff. A cliff of turmoil, trouble and pain and the kind of cliff that is not so easy to get back to where you once were.
______________________________
The four-point plan

1 Deploy ICE to Blue Cities
2 Exaggerate the scale and severity
3 Deploy National Guard Troops
4 Invoke the Insurrection Act
______________________________

They are provoking reactions and something sinister is afoot. This creates a pretext that could be used to consolidate power in a way that makes our constitution meaningless. Let Chicago be Chicago, federal troops do not belong there right now. Dangerous stuff.

“I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
No thing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”

Ozymandias - Shelley

Might this be the fate of the golden statue to be built in Gazaland?

Don’t get me wrong, I hope the current peace process enables the return of all the hostages and brings an end to the current genocide.

The president of Colombia is a little pissed off. He is claiming we bombed a boat carrying Colombian Citizens. I think I'd be pissed off too.

If true, this is in violation of US and International law.

The orange stain is a train wreck. Everyday a new nightmare. Everyday something huge that is reprehensible and unacceptable. There is no oversight and transparency. This will only get worse. Get up, stand up. Let your voice be heard. Do so within the law and non-violently. Take a video if you see someone breaking the law and send it to local media - get it out. People need to see what's going on.

The 85th anniversary of John Lennon's birth.
As HF sez,
Paz

"A Farewell to Kings" is a song about the corruption of leadership and the decline of society, where people have abandoned wisdom and great visions for easier, less ethical paths, leading to oppression and rule by self-serving tyrants. The "farewell" signifies a necessary awakening for the people to realize their own inherent power and reject the need for such rulers, becoming the solution to their own problems rather than waiting for leadership.

And an under-rated album.

with A LOT of enablers

So the orange turd has failed to get the Nobel Peace Prize. Maybe he shouldn't have said he would invade Greenland or that he would take back the Panama Canal by force. However, to his credit, he did end more fictitious conflicts than anyone else since the beginning of civilisation. Presumably he will now take revenge on Norway, as if they had anything to do with the award. Anyway, there wasn't room for the award on the mantelpiece of the tacky, gold-painted Oval Orifice due to all the other gold crap he has put there.
Maybe now he can get back to emulating the dictators of Central Asian Republics that he so admires, the ones that used to part of the Soviet Union. Like them, the orange turd loves things like giant flags, gold statues, bizarre building projects etc. He already has the flags outside the Shite House, he planned to put a giant gold statue of himself in the middle of the Gaza Riviera. Now he's building a ridiculous ballroom at the Shite House. I can understand that he wants a room to keep his balls in, but are they really that big? I guess Ms. Daniels knows, but she hasn't said.

The current administration is at war with itself trying to cut up to $30 Billion from the Department of Energy. Specifically, they want to gut any green, alternative energy project the department currently supports. This, despite 72% ot 73% of the country believing in climate change and supporting these initiatives.

Why?

Because, well, the orange stain begged and pleaded for $1 Billion in cash from the fossil fuel energy giants for his election campaign and promised in return to support these industries and gut alternative energy initiatives.

Sounds like corruption, doesn't it.. but this was completely legal thanks to Citizens United and other perversions to campaign finance laws.

Is it we the people or me the ruler?

Either way, this is bad news for jobs, bad news for the climate and bad news humanity.

In every autocracy there are winners and losers. In this case the radical right, Republikans, are the winners and the loony left, Democrats, are the losers. It isn't nice, it isn't fair, but that's the reality of life in an autocracy. In this case the autocrat in question is a mean, nasty, ugly, vindictive piece of shit who will try to ruin your life if you disagree with him in any way whatsoever.

The V.A. budget's just stretched so thin

'Cause we can' t make it here anymore
You see those pallets piled up on the loading dock

There's a needle in the gutter and glass everywhere
You don't come down here unless you're looking to score
We can't make it here anymore
The bar's still open but man it' s slow
The tip jar's light and the register' s low
The bartender don't have much to say
The regular crowd gets thinner each day
Some have maxed out all their credit cards
Some are working two jobs and living in cars

I bet you can't make it here anymore
There's a high school girl with a bourgeois dream
Just like the pictures in the magazine
She found on the floor of the laundromat
A woman with kids can forget all that
If she comes up pregnant what'll she do
Forget the career and forget about school
Can she live on faith? Live on hope?
High on Jesus or hooked on dope
When it's way too late to just say no
You can't make it here anymore
Now I'm stocking shirts in the Wal-Mart store
Just like the ones we made before
'Cept this one came from Singapore
I guess we can't make it here anymore
Should I hate a people for the shade of their skin
Or the shape of their eyes or the shape I'm in
Should I hate 'em for having our jobs today
No, I hate the men sent the jobs away
I can see them all now, they haunt my dreams
All lily white and squeaky clean
They've never known want, they'll never know need
Their shit don't stink and their kids won't bleed
Their kids won't bleed in their damn little war
And we can't make it here anymore
Will work for food, will die for oil
Will kill for power, and to us the spoils
The billionaires get to pay less tax
The working poor get to fall through the cracks
So let 'em eat jellybeans let 'em eat cake
Let 'em eat shit, whatever it takes
They can join the Air Force or join the Corps
If they can't make it here anymore
So that's how it is, that's what we got
If the president wants to admit it or not
You can read it in the paper, read it on the wall
Hear it on the wind if you're listening at all
Get out of that limo, look us in the eye
Call us on the cell phone, tell us all why
In Dayton, Ohio or Portland, Maine
Or a cotton gin out on the great high plains
That's done closed down, along with the school
And the hospital, and the swimming pool
Dust devils dance in the noonday heat
