You will see missiles flying on 10/18 in response to no king's day. There would be political hell to pay.

I do think he will send troops into SF, however. That should make us all feel, well, shitty.

Stand together, stand tall, break no laws, be peaceful, resist, speak your mind, say it loud.

We will see.

Let's agree on this, A Farewell to Kings.

Be safe, be polite, be accurate (no inaccurate hyperbole), be non-violent, but be present, be vocal and stand tall. Do not back down or be made to go home.

We focus so much on the king, but there is a dark, swampy power structure underneath.

After the dust settles and I think the no kings' effort will age well, we should all take stock and gain perspective of where we are. By all I mean both sides.

There is a stench underneath the king that is doing the real work. The right should take a careful look at the likes of Stephen Miller and Russel Vought. If the right has any conscience or takes stock of where and what went wrong, you don't have to look too far. They are the wrecking balls of this administration and should not be operating so freely pulling the levers of government against its own people without any real supervision or responsibility for their actions. They are the architects and much of what they are doing is likely illegal. This is not the normal GOP, there is a radical, anti-American cancer that taken root. These are not elected officials; they are causing harm to America and the world, they can be and should be fired.

I live in an Orange Central part of the world. We did surprisingly well.

There were a few wrinkles, but we managed.

Of all the people that honked, we got about a 50% middle finger vs. a 50% wave/thumbs up. Keep in mind I live in an areat that's about 70% orange. I take that as a win. Most imporantly we got our message out, politely, non-violently, with very little trouble and the few times resentment presented itself it was met with calm minds and rational thought.

I'm disappointed only because that's the best we can do right now, then again, we did the best we could have done all things considered. It was forward progress and to an extent we are wearing them out. Jeffrey Epstein, Federal Troops on the street, Black Hawk helicopters landing on apartment buildings in downtown America, boats in the Caribbean being blown out of the water without any proof presented that a crime was committed (understanding there are bad people in the world, but still). Tariffs, abandoning our allies with strange and sudden shifts in foreign policy, giving $20 Billion dollars to bail out foreign actors while not funding our own government and abandoning our committment to the healthcare infrastructure, the list is long, people here are fatiguted and I think authoritarian rule is weakening.

So keep up the peaceful pressure Mahatma Gandhi style.

Fluck Stephen Miller, Russel Vought and the rest of the modern-day, Gestapo.

We can win this. We should win this, we need to win this.

I was at the rally outside Newark DE. We took over a pedestrian bridge over a busy road. Much good honking. And Wilmington was much larger than expected!

It was just a few miles from Joe Biden's home, but sadly, we didnt see him there. Joe could have been wearing a dinosaur suit, however.

No drama. A few people in pickup trucks shielded their eyes while they impatiently waited for the light to change. That was fun to watch!

The friendships and connections made yesterday may be the undoing of this regime.

There is also a ridiculously difficult way as well by going through the community tab to Dead Store Products but that list is not organized in any understandable way. And I haven't looked there in a while. It may not have the newest ones since the site redo and since the comments have not been directly attached to the new release lately. Images of a wrecking ball tearing into the East Wing are making their way into televisions and IPhones. It's not Gaza, it's the Whitehouse.

The White House, the people's house, is one of the most iconic historical buildings in the world. It's a bit of a jolt to watch weight bearing walls being pulled apart and removed with claw machines, bulldozers, and excavators. What is the rationale again? "People have been asking for a ballroom for 150 years." No Sir, They Have Not. We need a new ballroom like we need tanks parading down Constitution Avenue to rows of empty seats. And the Rose Garden would like their roses back.

I don't know, it must have been the Roses...

Edit: the worst part of this is the corruption it invites. This addition is expected to cost $250M and doners are footing the bill. They will be taken care of, what favors, we will never know. Additionally, he is not going through Congress to get this done, as he should. He decides, he alone. Didn't 7 million of us hit the streets a few days ago to make this very point?

All this while we don't have enough money to keep the government open.

Man riding in a Jeep waving a gun was charged! This was the closest rally to me.

...
Nominee for Special Council in text exchange said 'he has a Nazi streak'

Now he is asking for $230 in damages for legal cases. Guess who gets to decide if the government settles?

This leaves him three years, three months left to clean out Fort Knox.

One of the January 6th insurrectionists he pardoned is under arrest for attempting to kill Hakeem Jeffries.

This whole thing is ridiculous, and expensive.

Heads he wins, tails we lose (and he also wins).

Sort of like the $400 million dollar Qatar gave him that will cost $1B to retrofit as Air Force 1 and won't be finished until he (hope by God) leaves after his term and then will take it with him to go to his "Library"

Then there is his Crypto. He's going to walk away from this Presidency with multiple billions of dollars in compensation for not playing by the rules.

He is going to keep going unless he is stopped by the checks and balances that are the foundation of the constitution. We the taxpayers are the victims here. To those who voted for this, stop voting by party line no matter what and stop watching Fox, NewsMax and the other propaganda channels.

He's extorting the DOJ

I'm still in shock over the destruction to the East Wing and his $230 Million extortion attempt from the American Taxpayers via his personal attorneys. After he took office he appointed these attorney's to the DOJ so now they will be approving this payout. Talk about a conflict of interest! The fox is in the hen house. Almost 1/4 of a billion dollars in 'damages'

The horror..

Edit: Wow, the entire West Wing of the Whitehouse has been demolished. Horror is an understatement. No plan review (the Situation Room is just underneath), no public comment period, no real warning or heads up. This was the people's house. A disgraceful, outrageous and irresponsible purging of history. Congress, grow a spine and stop this nonsense.

"We respectfully urge the Administration and the National Park Service to pause demolition until plans for the proposed ballroom go through the legally required public review processes, including consultation and review by the National Capital Planning Commission and the Commission of Fine Arts, and to invite comment from the public."

Emphasis on legally required public review processes.

Changes to the Whitehouse require approval from the National Capital Planning Commission. The Trump administration is saying they do not need approval because they set up their own Trump-appointed commission whose chair essentially said he approved it and they do not need outside approval from anyone.

This is Shenanigans. Total BS. Authoritarian rule, dictatorship, fascism, call it what you want. This is some crazy Shiite. They defiled the people's house. They destroyed a beautiful piece of American history and for what.. greed, narcissism, and vanity projects.

While most of America is hurting, he is fleecing the country to transform it into an oligarch fueled, personal printing press redistributing wealth from the needy to the wanting more.

You won! Winner, winner! Chicken dinner! At least chicken is still relatively cheap.
You want to know why egg prices are still high? All the chickens are in Congress. Who has worked two weeks in the past three months.

is allegedly being paid for by big companies

Not taxpayers

Quite a thing regardless

People's house? Please. We cant go in there.

We dont need to show you any stinking review process!

Future generations will be in complete shock studying this unfortunate time in history

They put him BACK into office

America the Moronic

The fact that taxpayers are not paying for this gaudy mockery of a renovation is the worst sin of it all.

It elevates the point of access and influence. It's a quarter of a billion dollars of influence that will pay dividends for the doners, it's really bribery in the open and corruption at an unprecedented level. The government is by the people for the people. We can afford to pay for the white house and have the right to do so without strings and attachment to corporate and especially foreign influence. This is a mockery to democracy. He's thumbing his nose at us, all while seemingly breaking the laws we fought extremely hard to write and enforce.

For all 12 of the people who read this.. the destruction of the East Wing is a travesty and signals the end of a free democracy here. Get some backbone and tell people, anyone, that this is not ok. This is not who we are. Who knows, this might reach 24 people, then 48. But we must try and not give up the struggle.

He destroyed a very important icon of democracy for a gaudy, crony corporate retreat center where the uber rich can gain influence and further erode democracy to feed their greed and financial vanity. He destroyed it, he asked no one, got permission from no one likely illegally and he dared anyone to stop him. All this against the juxtaposition of a government that is closed for lack of funding. Lack of funding at the same time the largest tax breaks in history were extended for the uber rich while healthcare for the poor is being defunded. Singing "I got mine and you got yours"

This, to many of us, is emotionally on par with the great fire that almost destroyed Notre Dame. It is a terribly sad and irreversible moment, today the East Wing is gone.

And the rich man in his summer home
Singing "Just leave well enough alone!"

Someone has got to turn the page.

If Obama, Clinton or Biden had sent the National Guard to Texas because of protesting life-sized frog people?

People poo-pooed Project 2025, but that is word for word, point for point exactly what they set into motion. Look at who wrote it. They are the power brokers in this administration and what they plan to do essentially unravels our democracy.

It's undemocratic and we don't have to take this. But to undo it means we have to vote, and it's going to take the right to turn off Faux News, hold their nose and vote their conscience.

So destructive and worse is yet to come.

Wait until the full impact of the Tariffs kick in mid next year. We went through this crap in 1933, we called Hoover Economics. Just ask Canada and Ronald Reagan.

The Supreme Court is set to hear Louisiana v. Callais for a second time in 2025, a case that could gut the landmark Voting Rights Act of 1965 and alter the balance of political power in America into a “one-party system.” At issue is whether Section 2 of the act — which prohibits racial discrimination in voting — violates the Constitution by allowing race to be considered in redistricting.

SCOTUS is considering allowing Racial Discrimination to be permitted / allowed in creating voting districts. Fairness (specifically lack thereof) is on the docket. Allowing unfair elections should not even be something they should consider.

There's a word for this, it's called Apartheid. It's wrong. Shame, shame on us if they do this. This will alienate (and infuriate) 40% of the country. I cannot believe this is where we are. Shame on us. Shame on you Federalist Society. Black and brown people are people too. What are you doing?

Amen. The East Wing is symbolic of his wrecking of our place in the world and our vital relationships. My many Canadian friends here in Vancouver refuse to enter the US and are selling their second homes in Florida and California. He did what no prime minister could-he united Canada. He has pushed India into the orbit of China. He has handed global leadership in science and clean energy to China and soon free trade. He has abandoned NATO and Ukraine and embraced Orban. He is destroying the very things that made our country exceptional and the question is WHY?

Brendan Carr, Charman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the governing body that has jurisdiction over the non-cable, broadcast TV stations is at it again, specifically trying to keep Texas democrat James Talarico off Colberts show. He pressured CBS executives that they need to give Jasmine Crockett equal airtime or because they are both running for the same office (that trick never works). CBS caved. Again. but the news is out and he is getting more publicity and exposure than he would have if they just left this the hell alone.

So a little on Carr that might shed some light on his carefully pondered thought process and brain matter.

Many people have told me the surname Carr has multiple, independent origins, primarily deriving from the Old Norse kjarr meaning large, very pungent and the Old English kerr meaning arse-hole.

Guessing he is of Scottish/English/Irish descent. Is it too late to deport him?

And the hits just keep on coming.

It is going to get much worse before it gets better. Don't wait to be heard and dump the trump. He is no bueno for the US, no bueno for democracy and no bueno for the world. He is Muy Bueno for himself, his kids, corruption, oligarchs, other dictators, the top 1%, and authoritarianism,

    1984 - George Orwell

Reporting from the newspaper "The Hill" today regarding the administration's decision to remove all references of slavery from the first presidential house in Philadelphia. The house Washington and Adams lived in before the White House was built:

Judge invokes George Orwell’s ‘1984’ in ordering restoration of Philadelphia slavery exhibit.

“As if the Ministry of Truth in George Orwell’s 1984 now existed, with its motto ‘Ignorance is Strength,’ this Court is now asked to determine whether the federal government has the power it claims—to dissemble and disassemble historical truths when it has some domain over historical facts. It does not,” Rufe wrote.

The judge on Monday ruled the Trump administration had disregarded its agreement with the city and requirements imposed by Congress. The ruling also invoked the Declaration of Independence, which was signed at the park.

“The government here likewise asserts truth is no longer self-evident, but rather the property of the elected chief magistrate and his appointees and delegees, at his whim to be scraped clean, hidden, or overwritten,” Rufe wrote. “And why? Solely because, as Defendants state, it has the power.”

    _______________________________

Not quoted in the article, but part of the ruling went further:

"Worse yet, the potential of having the exhibits replaced by an alternative script - a plausible assumption at this time - would be an even more permanent rejection of the site's historical integrity and is irreparable.

Don't take solace in this judgement, it will certainly be appealed and likely wind up at the Supreme Court. The same court that put him above the law last year. I am beginning to think they are a little biased in all things trump.

Judge Rufe is a Republican appointed judge.

This is where we are. This is not good, it's a travesty. Please vote. Please peacefully and legally refute and say no to this corrupt, authoritarian regime. It's not going to get better, it is only going to get worse. Take action but do so respectfully.
