Thanks for this offering. It sounds like a good batch, Pig 's behaviour intriguing; don't think I've ever heard this 9-19-70 show. If Tommo is sorted, guess I'm able to jump in at #1. 1. Greg Macfarlane 2. 3.

ENTER THE MATRIX VINE Vol 1. Synchronise a soundboard recording with one or more good audience recordings of the same show and you get a matrix. Some very deadicated and clever people have ‘matrixed’ quite a range of stand-out shows; here are 5 from across the years that I have recently sampled, combining top quality sound with atmosphere like you were there. All that and 3 Dark Stars, 2 St Stephens and 2 Terrapins! 1 DVD with all FLAC files. Would unpack to 12 CDs Sept 19 1970. Fillmore East. (gd1970-09-19.mtx.chappell.31510.sbeok.flac16) Most of set 2. Absolutely mind-blowing show and recording. Great Dark Star and a Lovelight with Pigpen totally outrageous. 1 CD. Dark Star >St. Stephen >NFA>Darkness Jam > China Cat Jam > NFA-> Lovelight>Crowd noise > Youngbloods: Get Together>Phil and Pigpen speak ->Youngbloods: Get Together -> Crowd noise. Sept 16 1972. Boston Music Hall. (gd72-09-16.matrix.SB20.77442.flac) A partial show with good jams and a really authentic concert hall sound too (to my ears anyway). Just before PITB starts you can hear some dude in the crowd drawl ‘Yeeah, this is it’.Sure is! 2 CDs From Set 1 t12 Playin' In The Band. From Set 2. t01. Morning Dew t02 Greatest Story (t03,t04,t05) t06 Dark Star ->t07 Brokedown Palace (T08,T09) t10 NFA -> t11 GDTRFB -> t12 NFA June 30 1973. Universal Amphitheater, Universal City, CA (gd1973-06-30.matrix.SB9.29753.flac16). A good 73 show. 3CDs Set I:Promised Land. TLEO. Mexicali Blues. Tennessee Jed. LLR. Birdsong. Cumberland Blues. "don't panic folks...".Row Jimmy. Jack Straw. Deal. BIODTL. Black Peter. Playin' In The Band Set II: Greatest Story Ever Told. Ramble On Rose. El Paso. Dark Star -> Eyes Of The World -> Stella Blue. Sugar Magnolia. Encore: OMSN January 22 1978. Eugene Oregon. (gd78-01-22matrix.28846.flac16) I don’t know what was going on up there, but they just tear into it. There is no SBD for the second disc so it is (quite good quality) aud only. The rest is matrix and exceptional. 3CDs Set 1:Minglewood Blues. Dire Wolf. Cassidy. Peggy-O. El Paso. Tennessee Jed. Jack Straw. Row Jimmy. The Music Never Stopped. Set 2:Bertha ->Good Lovin'. Ship Of Fools. Samson and Delilah. Terrapin Station ->Drums -> The Other One -> Jerry Solo (Close Encounters) -> Saint Stephen -> Not Fade Away ->- Around & Around. Encore: U.S. Blues May 8 1981. Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Uniondale , NY. (gd81-05-08.mtx.seamons.92002.sbeok.flac) Great sound and a rocking show.(with Ken Kesey guesting on harmonica!) 3CDs Set 1:Tuning. Jack Straw. Peggy-O. Me And My Uncle -> Big River. Loser. C C Rider. Althea -> Let It Grow ->Don't Ease Me In Set 2:.Shakedown Street -> Samson And Delilah. Terrapin Station -> Playing In The Band -> Drums ->Space** -> Not Fade Away -> Stella Blue -> Sugar Magnolia. Encore: U.S. Blues** **with Ken Kesey on harmonica FIRST TO SIGN AS USUAL 1 2 3 4

Hello all,As per the common-sense good sugestion, 3 vines--Eurovine #3, Summer 72/Europe 74, and Oct-Nov 72--were offered up and snapped up at the EuroTraders group. As three people wanted all three vines, they should float around for a while. Thanks, Brad

    Rules?
Yes, rules. To me the word "rule" is not a "bad" one in general. And I want to add that to me a "rule" is also not a bad thing in general. Aside of this, I am definitely aware that some words are bad and some rules are bad, too. So, as people, interested in a vine, need to add their name to the list and send a PM with their postal address to the person, who's name is the last one on the list, to get the DVD(s) she or he wants, I used the word "rule" (also to save some time, I admit), because this little procedure is the simple, clever and userfriendly rule, how to play the game named "vining". I was thinking about the freezer problem already. So I guess after a little party the rest of the burro will become Salami. Will contact one of my relatives in Bavaria, who makes excellent ones. And I don't want to dissapoint you, but I have started downloading 72_projects in a row a few days ago. So it might turn out that I won't be interested in that next vine of yours. But in case your vine is ready to hit the road before I get to Oct. and Nov. I will obviously ... andré

I on the other hand would be up for an Oct/Nov 72 offering as I have just purchased a new 500GB Hard Disk..and one that does not sound like a tractor! You can still buy horsemeat in a few special butchers here in France but I do not partake. When I worked in Kazakhstan horsemeat sausage was a daily offering, along with beer made from fermented horse milk....an acquired taste I assure you!

should Not Be The Only one Thang. I am aware of this ratio thing. So I am downloading stuff to pump it up, by downloading stuff that is not on the top of my list. But aside the ratio(nal) thing, I feel like downloading (as soon as my ratio is more than 0.1) stuff that will probably not help my ratio. Like Art Ensemble Of Chicago, Don Cherry, Townes van Zandt ... catching up with stuff, "you" all have already/for years. And I am ready to contact the dimeadozeners and tell them, what a nice person I am and that I really dig the idea of give&take and am online/share three to four days in a row, before I let my iMac have a seven or eight hours break and get sucky again :+) andré

Regarding the period after the tour, I don't have 07-25 07-26 08-20 08-21 08-25 09-21 09-27 So I could supply 06-17 07-16 07-18 07-21 07-22 October and November completely missing. Bob, you wrote "The Burros here are being trained in self defence, in case anyone tries to eat them". In response I could reply "Das ist mir Wurst" (= I don't give a ... dime) but instead I would like to know, whether you have ever witnessed when somebody tries to keep a hungry diabetic (let's say with a low blood sugar rate) away from food ? No matter if in self defense or for other good reasons. Well, as the Borg use to say "Widerstand ist zwecklos !" And I am not sure how much times a snail can carry it's own weight, but as long as they make it from Mike's to my place in a week, they don't seem to have problems. Aside the fact that, at least over here in Germany, nobody forces snails to pick up jobs. And let me add that I am prepared, after ordering 400 more blanks, although a lot of these will be used for the 17 DVDs the other local eurotrader gave me yesterday. Kraut, Kraut, Kraut ... and more Kraut. Maybe the burro will perform some unholy rolling on it, so the Kraut will taste a bit like meat:+)

what the Borg said...

Here are some snail facts Snails usually travel in irregular paths, often traveling in a circle. Snails reply mainly on their sense of touch and smell when finding food because they have very poor eyesight. Snails cannot hear. The fastest snails are the speckled garden snails which can move up to 55 yards per hour compared 23 inches per hour of most other land snails. Garden snails hibernate during the winter and live on their stored fat. Not very well suited for the postal service then:...maybe the snails don't actually carry the mail themselves, but are secretly in charge of the burros, riding them across the mountains sounds like Bob's enjoying life alone with his cigars..

what the Borg said..." Yes it is, Mary. At least in the German versions. Retranslated it is "Resistance is aimless". And as I never saw some originals, I stayed with the German. After all the burros and Wurst .. not to mention that to me the German sounds stronger/more ... borgy. What's the original sentence ?
