Joined:Quicksilver Messenger ServiceBurnout - always good to see Quicksilver mentioned on here. Incredible guitar sound. Maybe the 3rd guitar heard at the Kabuki was played by Dino Valenti. He can be seen holding one on some of their videos - mercifully not getting in the way too much, it must be said !
Inspired by your post I watched the great version of "Who Do You Love " on youtube from 12/1/73 at Winterland. The picture isn't too good but the playing is incandescent.
I might be wrong, but I think the ghostly looking dancer is Renee Berg. She can be seen on that Family Dog video dancing to The Dead in 1970, and also featured during Hawkwinds legendary Space Ritual shows at the end of 1972. - Forensicdoceleven

December 10.Sometimes a day of joy, sometimes a day of intense sadness and loss.
On this date in 1971 the Dead played a very very very fine show. Yes three verys. And now officially released. Good old Grateful Dead, listen and smile............

Joined:Anniversary shows 12/7,8,&9/91 Garcia & Grissman. Warfield34 years ago I was up in S.F. at the Warfield Theatre for for 3 absolutely killer shows with Garcia & Grisman. Garcia sounded fantastic, plying several songs on banjo and one on 12 string guitar. Great tapes of these shows on sound boards and video, they would make a tremendous release.

Dick's Picks 5 from 12-26-79 will be released at Real Gone Music this Thursday as a 5-LP. I'm waffling on this one right now and it may sell out with only 2000 offered. Freshly mastered By Mr. Norman and cited as a raw and energetic show with a 2 hour continuous 2nd set. Hmmm.... sounds better already, and a Christmas-y show in time for X-mas 2025, lol.
Guess I'll listen to DiP 5 today!

Joined:12-11-72 Set II"Part II, Part II of a Monday Night with the Grateful Dead" Actual emcee quote opening Set II (Bill Graham I'm guessing but not 100% sure) So I'm picking up where the sweet slice from this show in this week's Taper's Section left off (end of Set I.) And here we are on a Monday NIght almost 53 years later. This could be one of the handful of shows where Jerry played the Erlewine Stratocaster with rosewood numbers on the fretboard.
