6/1 meh
6/15 Very Nice! From DG GD hour. Not sure what number and his notes say date is unknown? Buts it’s a real nice one and only 35 minutes so nice to get a quick taste of primal!
7/1 another nice one worth checking out!
7/17 Fillmore another nice one! (2 actually ? both good)
And yes I went out of sequence as time dictated… mañana I’ll swing back to 7/3 from Boxilla and hopefully 7/16/66…

Believe I saw them a couple times on nugs?
Ok, decent musicians etc, but like much of “jam” bands didn’t take me anywhere, just endless noodling (though I hate that word). I know it doesn’t make sense that a 35 minute DS does, but some how, TGOGD always seem to eventually transport me someplace, even if the destination is seen unclearly lol Even The ABB, who I love and saw several times, can sometimes fall into the former more than the latter.
And lyrics…reason I’m not a big Fan of Phish either. Their great musicians but their songs and silly lyrics just don’t really resonate for me? I mean not everyone can have a Robert Hunter, or Barlow for that matter!
I admit I haven’t spent a lot of time on them, though I did spend some back late nineties as the college kids I was in a band with were influenced and trying to write like Phish and Zappa. Somewhere I have a copy of A Live One, and I worked with a guy briefly who would play shows on-site. I did like some of the good, big weird jam stuff, but just never connected with their songs per say…but hey, that’s just one old bastards take, so probably meaningless, though I would ask that you please get off my lawn!

Cool sheet Colin! I only briefly check a tad bit of Heaven and Hell, but I liked it. Sorta reminds me of my Oregon albums? Sorta… - 1stshow70878Joined:Goose
Heard 3 songs from Getting Killed (2025 release) on a public radio Tiny Desk Concert series article. All were mellow and since it's my 1st venture into them I would have to say pretty boring. I'm sure there must be something there and from what everyone here is saying it will be worth searching out, but from only this exposure I wouldn't even bother. Didn't really see the musicianship and on these 3 songs the singer's voice didn't draw me in either. Rather monotone. (The songs were Husbands, Cobra, and Half Real.)
