It's on Apple Music now. I'm listening to it. (Not gonna pimp for AM, but their streaming service works very well for me and my budget.) Going into Truckin' now.... ....Final songs really brought me back a ways. I really love(d) these guys! Lots of memories. Where have the years gone?

Is this available in stores today? Wasn't it going to ship so that I got it on the same day it's available in stores? I checked order status just now and it says "In Process." Shouldn't it say something more like "Shipped"? Has anyone received it yet?

NICE. A lot of the songs are ALBUM ONLY. I was looking forward to Shakedown Street, but the sample I heard sounded.....to be kind, horrible. Ah well.

im guessing they wanna sell before all the bootlegs flood the market... But it does seem odd that they are selling for events that have not happened. Who knows if these will go off without any hitches ? and they may not be any better than the 2009 tour ?

I guess they're grabbing the $$ up front in case the shows are just OK and there's little to no interest. Same reason why I would never listen to a 1995 show versus one from, let's say, 1972.

The fact that the July 5th show is a 2 Blu ray set say a lot about the length.

IF I could pick the Best of I would do the songs, were they Jam the best on and go places, like Eyes of the World , Dark Star, Playing in the Band, Weather Report Suite, The Other One, it would be to cool if they did Estimated Prophet Encore for 1st night, or even Here comes Sunshine , would be cool, new potato Caboose and or Wharrat would be over the top. see what Happens Chicago. Some folks are saying this is a money grab, ripoff... How is that exactly? A money grab ripoff would be someone putting their hands in you pockets and grabbing your wallet or breaking into your home. Both of which have happened to me (RIP stinky cat, love you forever sweety). They are *offering* this stuff for sale at about $10 per disk. No one is being forced to buy anything, and given the content and no doubt significant production costs, seems to me a very reasonable price for something being being *offered* for sale. The fare thee well shows are being over hyped though, but is the band guilty of that? I very much doubt it, been seeing these guys for 40 years now, and puddle deep, commercial crap hype is not their style at all. They are going out to play, and the producers, marketers, and scalpers are the ones going for the monetary jugular beacuse they can and that is what they do.

To me, it's an option for those of us who were locked out by ticketmaster and unable to afford scalper prices for tickets. Saw the 7/3 concert Simulcast last night and will probably buy the entire 3 concert set on Blu-Ray/CD as it's about the same price as one ticket to the show. Looking forward to seeing what they pick as the Best Of, though.

"I totally agree! I'm not inclined to buy unless the shows are really amazing ..." I saw the simulcast of the final show. IMO, it *was* pretty amazing. Waaaaay better than I expected. I know this is heresy, but in some ways, it was actually better than the real Grateful Dead.

On Sunday I put up my $39 and saw a pretty good show, but not good enough to pay for 2 Blu-Rays. In fact I'm not so sure that I liked it enough to listen to it again on CD. Bob is always Bob and Treys vocals were OK but I have always considered Phil to be a great bassist and a pretty awful singer. I, along with most truly honest folks, would consider Phil's vocals of the past to be a fun novelty where we would applaud his effort but be kind of glad when the song was over. I sure hope there are enough highlight from the five shows to put together a credible Best Of CD Just this cats opinion

How about the Santa Clara shows as releases also, at least night 1, which was far and away the most unique setlist of the 5. It really was something very special, musically and atmospherically and should be made available. The playing is very worthy, especially set 2!!!

I agree. Release the Santa Clara shows!! Those of us who were only able to attend those shows are feeling slighted with all the attention that is being paid to Chicago. They were just as magical and special, and by all accounts equally good as the last three shows. We would like to be able to relive those moments for years to come. C'mon, Rhino, get it together.......

Lucky that Chicago sold out in minutes and the band added their "warm-up" weekend in Santa Clara. No way Chicago would have been as good as it was with out the SC tune-up shows. Empty seats behind the stage and a comparatively far less enthusiastic SC crowd lead to a rip-roaring, mega-energy three night Fare Thee Well at Soldier Field. All parochial emotions aside, and having seen all five shows, the six month build-up to Soldier Field was, in a word, EPIC. Be kind.

For years I have been to far more Grateful Dead shows than I can count. I stopped going to the big venues on the east coast. The crowds just don't know how to listen to the music. People yelling and talking while the band plays on. The 1980 10/31 at Radio City Music Halls 1st set was extremely rude to the boys. It carried over into the 2nd and 3rd sets but to less degree. Please listen if you can find the shows. California shows in the bay area were always laid back (as far as the crowds go)That says nothing about not being enthusiastic. I did not go to the (so called) 50 years shows. Jerry left us 20 years ago. To say people went to see the Grateful Dead is preposterous. Whatever floats your head!

is what you missed out on joining over those 5 days ! cause WE all had a VERY high time, and a lot of us didn't need to go all the way to Chi-town. this is the 21st century, and i GREATLY enjoyed the excellent final show from the comfort of a movie theatre, full of happy, dancing Heads of all ages & types (as usual). saying you choose to skip the kind of fun & beauty & art that we all experienced together across the country is like saying you won't go to a symphony concert "because Beethoven's dead, man. you can't call that music Beethoven!" that's why we call things "classic"; they endure for years or centuries, and bring something new to each generation, proving that we are all human and are all one.

1) Having spent some time with tfonts and the SD crowd indeed made Chicago ever so Epic! Tony you are one cool dude!2) All shows were great and each was unique in it's own right. 3) If you weren't there, you can't know. 4) The shows, by far, exceeded my expectations. 5) So lucky, so humbled and so overjoyed I got to experience the spectacle in all it's glory. Long live the dead! "Glory gonna be my name..."

Klangstone, you said it best. That is exactly right. Exceeded my expectations. It was a magical weekend that will stay with me to the grave. I feel so fortunate to have been there and experienced it. It truly was a Dead show. I really did not expect that. I looked at Trey with condescension before the shows and with reverence now. Sorry. That's just me. Why they don't just sell CDs for each show is beyond me. I don't really want "best of" nor do I want the DVDs. Peace. Hopefully there were young people there who felt the vibe. The world is a better place with more Deadheads. Bill

I was lucky enough to have attended all three nights in Chicago. I have to say, that first night was unbelievable and felt like a GD show. The vibe of the crowds around the show and inside the show was exactly like the authentic GD experience. Smiling, loving people, tremendous vibes and a genuine enthusiasm. That is what the GD experience was all about for me. The GD was just the catalyst.

I whole hardily agree in peoples desires for video of the Santa Clara Shows. After 43 years of approx: 350 shows I thought the final five were an excellent send off. There are always a few warts or it wouldn't be normal?? As far as High Times I felt the First show in Santa Clara toke the cake. If that video shows the rainbow, that alone is worth the price. Release them and they will sell. These are the droids we are looking for.

You would want to see a cover band over what we experienced on the couch and live. Come on man. It was smoking and I had a great time for what it was. I was not looking for anything but listening to the way they arranged the composition of the music. I feel it was seriously kick arse for what it was. Great send off and well well worth more than 10 bucks. I would have paid 10 bucks for the free rose. I would have paid 10 bucks just to be with brothers and sisters in the lot. However, the music was smoking and I was very impressed for with the composition of the music. I still like listening to it for what it is. I find something new every time I put it on. And for what it worth. I am so happy for the Santa Clara shows. If that is a warm up....HOLY HELL What a band. LOL. That comment is crazy in my opinion and that is all this is ....A little old opinion by me. We all have them. I have a right to say that the West Coast seem to know how to take a show while being chill. Love how easy and chill everyone is. I would not say that is warming up. I would say it shows maturity because the music was(HOT). The Friday in Santa Clara I would take if I had to chose a show. PERIOD. So for the first time hitting the stage and definitely a little cold at first for Trey....They sure did a hell of a job. I LOVE that show. Give it to me FRIDAY SC...is the way I like it served up. People who act like they have been to a show before and knowing that all we wanted was a wave from the band. A nice goodbye wave. If they came out and only did that I would have paid more than 10 bucks. Kidding me. ..... I love the difference between East and West. Always seems like there is more turmoil on the East coast for some reason. Just for me it always seams like more maturity on the West. Maybe its the way the bands feel. I dont know but I have seen smoking set on both sides of the country. For some reason always much more comfortable on the West Coast shows. Once again it was the same feeling even with that many people. Top it off with a Rainbow and being "all in good company". I value everyone thougths as this is my meager opinion. IN SUMMARY:SMOKING HOT FRIDAY NIGHT IN SC. GREAT PEOPLE, GREAT TIME all around. Thank you GD for such a good time. THANK YOU SO MUCH. It is now ours forever and these shows will even live and breath as well for years to come. Thank you. There should be no hate or dislike in anyway shape or form. As the other Gents said. WE ARE SO LUCKY TO EVEN GET WHAT WE HAVE AND HAD. Of course we Miss Jerry and we are in the days between so I simply give a big THANK YOU and advice everyone to take it for what it is. No need to compare anything. You simply cant.....We are missing too big of an icon.

It would be great if they set up a system that would allow you to pick the tracks you wanted from all the shows & they put them on a two disc set or something. I'd pay extra for that service!! It could be your own greatest & favorites even if you couldn't be there! reminds me of the my first & sadly last show, Boston Garden 10/3/94...wish I could find that on CD too :/

Any guesses as what's going to be on this? Looks like it's only going to be two CD's so not a whole lot of room. I'd be happy with the first night minus Drums and New Potato Caboose. That should just about exactly fill 2 CD's. :) The only stuff from the other nights I'd really like to see on this is Shakedown Street and The Golden Road from night 2 and the first three songs from night 3
