    Green Acres
I always loved Deer Creek (except for the cops) but the lot scene was always killer. Does anyone remember The Green Acres campground? Super close to the venue almost walking distance. It was always my favorite campground on the summer tour schedule. It was owned by a biker family so it was one of those anything goes campgrounds. The party never ended there and there were never any hassles, Private land NO COPS! I really miss that place and all you brothers and sisters I met there over the years.

Howdy GD fans, well, everybody since deer creek opened up in 1989 wanted to see the GD at this venue. it only held about 19,000 max and most every year it would sell out. I've heard that this venue was constructed with the GD in mind..the parking lot was way larger than ever need be, and this year it was 10 dollars just to park in the lot...I remember seeing alot of folks turned away in their cars that they couldn't come up with 10 bucks ,which was high price to park...most of the time it would 3 - 5 dollars to park in a venue lot... well, the shakedown st. opener was appropriate as the local authorities were harsh when the GD came to town...most folks don't know but there actually was pre-trail and a judge in the parking lot near the offices at deer creek...what a racket, trust me I know ....folks went to jail for everything that was trivial and petty, and if you didn't have the bread , you served time stand outs that I remember, I had taper tickets we ran a 4 mic mix of senn 441's and nak 100s in to DAT, but cutler didn't have the stacks right, there were some kind of phase issue that made the tapes of the whole run sound "washy" , and they fired healy - mistake, cutler didn't get it right until 95, and in 95 it sounded awesome, peharps meyer and pearson got involved... the playin in the band was huge, broken arrow was nice and was kind of rare in that year since the year before it was selected more so, I want to tell you was nice, but rather sounded "under rehearsed" wharf rat out of space was nice, especially the star effects from candance, very simple but effective, rain encore was also nice, of course, tennesee jed probably selected due to the amount of police presence, I remember signs posted that said, "police search ahead" of which paranoid heads would make a adverse traffic move and get searched legitamately, I wondered why the GD came back after that crap was so evident....I guess you gotta play the gigs... Ursa Minor I wish that for just one time, You could stand inside my shoes, and for just that one moment, I could be you - Bob Dylan, Positively 4th St.

I always wondered if that were true or a rumor until my friend had first hand experience
