what an incredable band this was jerry and bruuuce playihg back and forth with each other what fun!sad brent was gone killer show the hearld siad the next day the dead were playing mellow ya that the ticket bird song mellow . i saw the first three of this run a lot of fun. took the subway to the show never saw the parking lot seen at all. "dont say i didnt worn you when your train gets lost"!!! help slip fire estimated truckin' watchtower dew!!! mellow sweet memories of this got home in time to watch snl on tv "beter than tv beter than tv"! aiko aiko

I seem to recall watching from the Balcony of the old Garden and that when everyone was jumping up and down on the balcony the whole thing was bouncing like the end of a diving board. I seem to recall the Boston Cops being a little overly eager to bust and hassle people. Good show...could sworn they placed Broke down palace though

Msn the dead just loved to play here. They almost never gave a poor performance here. This night was no exception. Help->Slip->Fire. I still remember stopping for a moment, not believing what I was hearing. Awesum run these shows were. Only draw back was the Masshole cops, & driving in Boston. The drunk Irishman must have gotten his cow drunk & fallowed it. That's how they laid th roads out.

Is that Bruce got on Jerry's case a bit at setbreak for a sort of lackluster first set. Hornsby still believed that that Dead could do anything, if Jerry was on point. So what better way to break out of a mini-funk after the setbreak than do one of the more amazing switch-a-roos the band ever pulled? Never forget that moment when they slipped into Fire. Can still hear it now. There were like six ovations before Garcia even finished singing, "Long-distance runner ..." They tore that old building down right there. Amazing moment in Dead history.

I too was at this mammoth and a highlight of course was the totally unexpected, never-before-attempted transition from Slipknot into Fire on the Mountain. Lost in the moment (and my own innerspace), I did turn to my buddy and declared "I know this song, but I can't place it!!!"....that was just how captured by the magic I was, in the moment. Killer run all around, these Garden shows. DP 17 among them.

Chasing the energy was always what we where doing, when Jerry started laying down the first notes of Fire, the Boston Garden lit up. I remember it seemed like the house lights came on with those first few notes, then back to the Red lights and darkness as they started to get in the groove. Noting against Vince but when Bruce was sitting behind the Grand Piano on the stage with the boys with that little Beethoven on top. Jerry seemed liked he did not want to disappoint and was more adventurous. This Fire, Berlin 90 and MSG 90 are my fav's with Bruce, I liked when Jerry gave him the nod to take the lead.

This was my second show and had a blast! Had my parents drive me and my buddy Keith down to this one from Canada as they were still livid that I had snuck off for 3 days to catch the Albany shows earlier in the year at the tender age of 15. The place went nuts when the went into Fire. It was hot in there! Bruce was amazing, too bad he didn’t stick around.
