Dead Heads will have two reasons to check out Little Feat keyboardist Bill Payne's May solo tour. Many will know that he has recently collaborated with Robert Hunter - four songs by them, including the title tune Rooster Rag, are on last year's Feat album. In fact, the duo are now up to 15 songs together, and many of the newest are part of Bill's solo show. In addition, Grateful Dead publicist and biographer Dennis McNally will open the show with what he calls "weird - and you know that's a positive adjective in the G.D.

OK, we made a big deal about Phil turning 70 last year, and Bob Dylan got an endless (but very interesting) Rolling Stone cover story for turning 70 a few weeks ago. But now it’s time to give some serious props to Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter, whose 70th birthday is June 23.
