Grateful Dead
30 Days Of Dead - November 19th
+ More Info
You know your Ables from your Bakers from your C's, but can your finely tuned ears differentiate the cosmic "comeback" tour from a spacey 70's show? Each day we'll post a free download from one of the Dead's coveted shows. Will it be from that magical night at Madison Square Garden in '93 or from way back when they were just starting to warm it up at Winterland? Is that Pigpen's harmonica we hear? Brent on keys? Step right up and try your hand.
Each day, the first person to guess the venue & date correctly will get a Road Trips of their choice. If you’re not first but you've answered correctly, you will also be automatically entered for a weekly prize of THE WARNER BROTHERS STUDIO ALBUMS VINYL BOX (EXCLUSIVE EDITION) or a FORMERLY THE WARLOCKS boxed set. Log in now and enter to win! - Less Info
This is a tough one. It's got an East Coast vibe-- listen to the crowd. Bobby sounds wasted. It's got the pace and guitar work of late 70 or 71 after the winter shows, where "Sugar Mag" seems to be played slower. Most '71 versions time out longer than this one. This is lots of fun. I should be doing other things.
Versions are because originally the wonderful tech dudes/dudettes here @ Dead.Net did an oops and posted the wrong song for the day. So, technically they have not been released yet, and we don't know if they are gonna release the other versions either. But since they aren't official we aren't posting them (if they are even there).
Hope that helps.

I know I got the right show, but went for the wrong year at first like many I'm betting. Anyway, I own the show on tape but WITHOUT that intro so awesome pick!
A 'BIG' thank you to kutsavi for the excellent tip. I had missed some of the tracks, but now, the collection is up to date.... Thanx Again... Greetings from North of Ireland!!!
... it's a set opener, it's east coast (from Bobby's reaction to the "barking orders"), the length and the sound place it clearly in late 1970/early 1971. And if you're still stuck, then Bobby's intro is a real give-away. So if you haven't got the show on tape, or you've never heard it, then get streaming on archive and you'll get it in no time at all. Love this 30 Days Of Dead, how about making it 365 Days Of Dead next year... and opening up the competition to non-US residents (we'll pay the extra postage for prizes if we win!)
9-18-1970 Fillmore East
Deadbase lists a Sugar Mags opener, but the audio on Archive does not include the tune. I'll have to dig up my tape to make sure.
Peace -
David
Was nice to be able to have gotten a shot at the daily prize! not sure if I was 1st but definitely nailed it with Crowd barking orders & Bobbies comment. Keeping my fingers crossed for the day!
Thank You all at Dead.net ☮ ♫ ;}>
Love this. Sounds like Bobby was having a good time. Thanks
again for all the music!
See ya all later have fun! Will leave you with this:
As much as I love the music and its availability, half the fun here is reading the comments from fans old and new about the song and their detective work in determining what is the correct show.
Our own Deadhead CSI (Concert Song Investigation)!
Roger Waters Sunday! Can't wait to see The Wall.
Great weekend to all.
I second that emotion... skendrick.
He's Gone & Easy Wind have A & B versions. What? How? Why?
Love doing this with all you guys everyday!!
Let's Puff!!! ; )
