You know your Ables from your Bakers from your C's, but can your finely tuned ears differentiate the cosmic "comeback" tour from a spacey 70's show? Each day we'll post a free download from one of the Dead's coveted shows. Will it be from that magical night at Madison Square Garden in '93 or from way back when they were just starting to warm it up at Winterland? Is that Pigpen's harmonica we hear? Brent on keys? Step right up and try your hand.
Each day, the first person to guess the venue & date correctly will get a Road Trips of their choice. If you’re not first but you've answered correctly, you will also be automatically entered for a weekly prize of THE WARNER BROTHERS STUDIO ALBUMS VINYL BOX (EXCLUSIVE EDITION) or a FORMERLY THE WARLOCKS boxed set. Log in now and enter to win! - Less Info
... uh oh! Mickey's big hand and little hand (not Hart's) are both straight up. Uh-oh! (Just kidding.)
I placed my guess
guess i'm not the first... but I've got a good idea when it was.
This is a great idea! Having a blast and its only 2 days in. Probably not correct but went with 2-21-69 at the Dream Bowl. Good luck to all!
This is one of the many reasons why the GD are the coolest band in the land....Yes they like to make money but the Dead have always pit their fans ahead of profits....to bad todays bands are so fuckin; clueless.
It would be more fair to randomly choose one of the deadheads with the correct answer rather than the first person to answer correctly. This would avoid the problem of too many people trying to log on at the same time and clogging up the works. The contest, as it is now favors those with a better internet connection.
-just sayin'
while others had already identified the song....I went with SF in 1969
Though I'm grateful for the songs, I support the suggestion of a FLAC-option.
As a non-US citizen, identifying the date and venue is useless :-(
