You know your Ables from your Bakers from your C's, but can your finely tuned ears differentiate the cosmic "comeback" tour from a spacey 70's show? Each day we'll post a free download from one of the Dead's coveted shows. Will it be from that magical night at Madison Square Garden in '93 or from way back when they were just starting to warm it up at Winterland? Is that Pigpen's harmonica we hear? Brent on keys? Step right up and try your hand.
Each day, the first person to guess the venue & date correctly will get a Road Trips of their choice. If you’re not first but you've answered correctly, you will also be automatically entered for a weekly prize of THE WARNER BROTHERS STUDIO ALBUMS VINYL BOX (EXCLUSIVE EDITION) or a FORMERLY THE WARLOCKS boxed set. guessing 10/13/80. Can't be post 82. I hope I don't eat my words.

HSC I've had pretty good success downloading. No idea about correct venues, date - is that posted anywhere the following day? What a cool wy to end the day - a toke, glass of wine or brewski, and a new version of something!
My female ventriloquilal figure (dummy)is named Sugaree...
HSC By the way - Thanks to canyon critter for watching our back!
Your 3-26-88, Happy Friday, I suspect is a fairly close guess. It's not that one, because that Hampton show and that Hell In a Bucket-> Sugaree are burned into my memory. But it sounds like the same general space.
I could be wrong, but I don't think this is anywhere near 80-81.
By the way, there is no way this 84 or beyond. Listen to Jerry's voice in spring 87 and we know what he sounded like in 84/85 (the heroin frog).
It took a bunch of tries, but I managed to score the whole Sugaree.
Many thanks to all involved in putting this out there.
Thanks to Canyon Critter for easing me toward a complete Playing in the band. I found out too late that the version I downloaded fell a couple of minutes short.
Enjoy the music.
Peace
Steve
Why did I waste my time and download allowance on 2 Easy Winds? 16 Jan 70 is a bonus track on Workingman's and 31 Dec 70 is on the New Year's Eves at Winterland bonus CD - so I've already got them!
Will only download 2 minutes of song
