Thank you for playing 30 Days of Dead. The answer to this day's contest is:
Columbia, MD, Merriweather Post Pavilion
06/26/1984
During the Donna years, this was primarily a Bob and Donna duet, with some spectacular harmonizing particularly in 1976-1977. After 1979, however, it was exclusively a Bob solo song.
Today's winner is: Steve H. from Tacoma, Washington

Maybe it was Seattle darn if I can remember but once upon a dead concert Mr. Weir nailed this one to the cross. His voice was so rich and deep the audience was crying. It was the most moving rendition of this song it was amazing. Just wish I could remember which concert, I think west coast late 70's and that is about as close as I can guess it. This was not the time or the place he knocked this song out of the park.
As of this POST, the weather has been merry, but soon it Looks like rain up here in NH. Cheers everyone.
Thanks for the clues, everyone! :-)
I love this! Please continue into December....the music never stopped....
I am no expert, it just sounds like I've heard it before. Perhaps wishful thinking?
wrong coast
sounds like a 1984 ...east , west or center of country.... hmmmmmm
Dang there's gonna be rain today.
Another fine selection!
I'm guessing 9/12/85, but I don't think that's right. Definitely 84 or 85, although Jerry sounds more 85 to me.
This and the rest of the clues should lead you to the answer you seek
"But goddamn" that's a good version.
I love this concept, but I have one suggestion. These tracks should really be pitch corrected, especially this one. This runs way, way too slow.
classic set 1 closer combo for this era. My favorite Althea from this year.
Phil is with the 6 string.... and it's partially digital sounding... ; ]
They didn't record with digital equipment until late '88 / early '89.
If only I could listen to this with a Stranger and Althea. Maybe Cassidy could come along too.
June 26
Not so merri....mmmmmmmmmmm, this big apple is sooooooo tasty
I'm not sure I get your clue, unless you're saying this was a NY show. In which case, you missed it. sorry dude!
Yeah that's what I was thinking...thanks for the tip..I wish I had time to listen to them all : ) Btw, in '84 they closed the first set with this combo 8 times....assuming its '84. Up late last night watching the whole 1st set merriweather from 83 on YouTube...not that one. Decent amateur video when its not focused on the back of head's heads...hahaha
... my non-US residence rendering me ineligible for the competition. We could do with another couple of covers? thanks for everything [and for getting this whole thing so rights after all the blips last year]
When I tried syncing this one, I couldn't get it to go just right. One was just a bit off as far as tempo but I'm pretty sure I got it.
"The more the 'merrier'" indeed. Haha, nice clue. If you can't get this one, well, in the end, Don't Quit Your Day Job...
started off spot on, then the different taping speeds kicked in, but was able to make a good guess...and judging from some of the clues, I seem to be on the right track, so i figured i'd Post.....
Tougher than you would expect because of those issues you mentioned. But you can pick up on some key moments if you listen hard. But I believe I picked the same show. Good clue.
the end of might as well is a good giveaway
made for some crazy effects
messin with our heads
i think i broke something trying to listen while syncing (is that spelled right, looks weird, see what i mean) and i believe it may have induced flashbacks.
wasn't too thrilled at the version at first but the more i listened the more i liked.
whether or not i got it right -i don't seem to care anymore.
feeling rather jolly at the moment
thanks dave
now how about a nice mellow peggy-o or stella blue to bring me back.
Rain
the more the merrier
NY MSG 10-12-83 kind of has a nice ring to it doesn't it?
