This site provides great info for casino players about slot tournaments at an online casino can be very profitable for even the beginning gambler for little money.
I've got some great ideas for this year, and even have better programs to work with. So, without Furthur adew I will say this "BROTHER" will be giving you tidbits on the last 7 daze of furthur. I've got to go on Midwest Furthur Tour Chicago to Indy first. I've already made the first one, but last year I had four. I should be making up a collage/montage of 30 daze video as well this year.
Hope to see you all at the shows, and if not ride the couch tour.
This cat is off to dancin' in the moonlight.
~Critter
For now.....Last years 31st day contest!
Thanks again for all the tremendous selections!
The was always one of my favorite periods for the band. Saw them several times this year. The fall was great as Keith was new to the group and brought a lot of energy and a new sound. Plus all those new songs seemed to juice the band. And most of the fall tour was broadcast on a local FM station so there were subsequently lots of high quality FMs that circulated among traders. Two of the shows I had the pleasure to see were at the Fabulous Fox Theater in St. Louis, and Pigpen had rejoined the band after taking several months off to regain his health. One of my friends recorded the show and we spent the next several months reliving the second show (Dec 10th) and getting well acquainted with the new material.
A lot of firsts in the previous show. Great era for the boys, Fiery! Yeah!
sorry about the double post
Loved what Canyon Critter developed last year. Wondering if he'll make another appearance. Saw a few posts earlier, but still no artwork. If you remember his stuff from last year (not just the covers, but some very cool posts), help me in encouraging him/her to do it again.
On another note, saw Further 11/11/11. This band rocks (5th recent show), was blown away (or should I say, over), literally, meaning, as the music played my soul and my eyes were closed feeling that feeling you only feel at a "show":
Harsh reality strikes> I was dancing on concrete steps> concrete steps have no respect for my dance moves> down he goes> blown over by the jam> "is he OK? they ponder"> He's up> Laughter erupts
End result, GREAT time, sore ass!

I started on this one, then worked my way back until I found it. So I guess the tune devolved as I searched. That in itself was interesting.
Nice that Furthur included Ramblin' Rose in tonight's show.
The geezers rocked!
Great birthday song :)
Makes me reminiscent of the two Ann Arbor shows.
Just figured I'd toss my 2 cents in on the guess the show/ free daily downloads subject. I've been a Grateful Dead fan for over 40 years. My very first Grateful Dead show was "Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ 9/3/77". What a show! Needless to say, everyone that comes to this site is a fan. Varying degrees, but all fans. I'm a huge fan but I could never even try to guess the shows these songs are from. I'm just not in the same league as some others here. So I don't try. That being said, if you can -DO. If you can't - DON'T. If you do try to guess, try not to ruin it for others. Either way, we're all fans here and this is supposed to be a fun thing to do. Keep this in the spirit it was meant to be. FUN!!! Thanks much to those who are kind enough to do this for us. I love the choices you're making and love getting the free daily downloads. Any day listening to the Grateful Dead is a better day indeed!
I agree with some of you guys. If you don't want any hints, simply don't read the comments. I personnaly enjoy having a few hints because I wouldn't be able to narrow my search as easily. I don't have a lot of free time to track down all of these songs, so a hint or two does me some good. Besides, this is for fun and the love of the music right?
its all about winning a clock made out of an old vinyl record with some stickers pasted on it for me. either that or a XXXXL pink golf shirt.
just kidding, its all about the music!!!!! but its all about the fun of search too. I have listened to a whole bunch of stuff I probably wouldn't have during the search for the answers. loads of fun just looking around for the right show.
I would prefer no hints/clues/spoilers/answers myself. That being said I'm not gonna dictate what people should write here. You wanna spoil, go for it, you won't get any trouble from me.
I try to figure it out myself first then read the comments. I like playing the game. I dont wanna know the answers, so I dont read the comments till after I've guessed.
The hints certainly open up the pool of potential winners, but who cares. Is my, or anyone's, life gonna change because they won a GD keychain or clock?
As for the grand prize, I already laid out $450 for my cherished personalized steamer trunk, so I'm good with that.
One post-er here said they'd give the CD's away to people who didnt have any. Not me man. Id take em and bury them in the yard so no one else could ever enjoy them. But that's just me.
yes, without the grateful dead keychain my life is totally incomplete. with no hope of winning it, i have no reason to live.
where did i put my metal detector...... : )
So THIS is what happened to all the leftover copies of the 'Steal Your Face' album.
Gotta say, I've been playing in the faint hope of winning the Europe '72 set (and because it's a blast), but I actually do want this vinyl record clock. Not that my wife would let me hang it anywhere in the house, ha.
As for today's quest - really, really fun. Listening to this song played across these shows (I had to check like 7-8 versions before I got it) is a textbook example of evolution.
Thank you Dave, Blair, and/or whoever else I should thank.
i fail to understand why anyone has a need to criticize this event. it makes november even more special.
Thanks for a nice Ramble. This little daily Dead break is just what the doctor ordered as the weather turns chilly.
When I download the song to listen to it, then do research, and then enter my guess as to date and venue for the last five days when I click submit no matter how long I wait
the page just hangs there unless I hit refresh.
Will hitting refresh make sure that my pick is submitted?
can't you just listen to the song first without downloading it? hit the little play button by the title. that workd for me but i know not all computers work the same for sure. i figure the download button is for those who don't want to bother making a guess, they just want the song. perhaps it causes a glitch to download first then try to play the game?? anyway i dont download until i make a guess,i also place a pencil with the lead facing left on the top of my keyboard, turn around three times while tapping my head with my right hand and taking three sips of coffee with my left hand, one sugar two creams, then put the coffee down on the left side of my desk with my right hand. then i wave my arms all about.... but maybe i have given too much away
I quit drinking coffee a few years ago so it might not work for me but your way sounds like a lot more fun than just refreshing the page!
You might be able to pull the song out of the browser cache after streaming it but I just download a copy so I can listen to it in Winamp. It's a lot easier to synch using a local copy of the song and it doesn't seem to bother the contest entry process at all even if I close the browser and come back later to put in my best guesstimate.
Refresh the page and try again.
Refreshing the page probably won't submit the stuck e-mail address but you're limited to one entry per day. About the only thing you have to worry about is getting it done sometime before midnight.
I have been enjoying this I wasn't around a pc last year to do it but I am having fun this time round. I see people on here complaining about people giving hints or posting the answer. This is an open message board isn't it? If your having a problem with it so much do what I do and I have seen other people here posting that they do the same. This is internet age people give away spoilers for free. Listen and attempt to answer before you start reading what people are posting. Its pretty simple to do. I had a couple times where the hints helped me because I had no idea on a few of these. For the most part its pretty easy but, some are hard.
I noticed that when Charlie posts the answer nobody is complaining but when other people do its a hate fest.
Good luck and have fun I know I am.
=D
Thank you for all this great music
For all this great music!!!! I have been posting for YEARS that I wanna hear something released from the OMNI in Atlanta!!! PLEASE!!! SO many great shows there between 89 and 95!!! I NEED A MIRACLE!!!
yeah, c'mon, please don't give any hints. this is supposed to be a test of your GD knowledge!
Too many clues and spoilers? Okay, Augustus Gloop, next time yell, "Fire!" when you fall into the chocolate!
I suppose comments about the days' songs could be limited to:
"It's wizard!"
"It's smashing!"
"It's keen!"
but that would be more than a little insipid.
maybe they are going back up to the top in that style
I like it and it's better than, "Oops...."
My first instinctive guess is that this version has all the markings of an "early" rendition or iteration of a Dead song, played a little faster, looser and more energized than later versions when the song matures, slows down or opens up improvisationally. This helps me place the date to an interesting transitional moment in the Dead's history.
another great selection. I was listening to this show last weekend, gotta love the energy and the conviction of this version.
Ramble on Rose is one of those songs that gets overlooked, but every time I hear it I think that its one of Jerry's best, and some of the best lyrics written by Hunter.
thanks for making this one available David.
I have yet to have a break at work, so no time to figure out the exact date yet, but I have been able to listen, and this is another great selection! Thanks again guys!
On another note, I really enjoyed yesterday's discussion about which songs you would like to see released in the next couple of weeks - - and I realized I posted a "Jerry only" list. So, to rectify that, I would also like to see:
Weather Report Suite>Let it Grow
Saint of Circumstance
Feel Like a Stranger
Givin' Bobby some love! What do you think?
Sorry guys, major faux pas yesterday by posting the date to my guess. Bad form, I know. I really do not know which version this Ramble is, but it does sound very early.
Wow, ultimately we all just want to enjoy some music and and trade info on which show it could be. Yes, sometimes people post the answer here. I seriously don't think they have any malicious intent though. On a few occasions poeple have thought this is where to post the answer. Either way I don't think it calls for lashing out at each other. In the long run what's the big deal, free music and trading ideas/hints is awesome. I also have had the mystery taken out by someones post. Just forget you saw it and move on.
that no one post answers with ill intent. And I hope I wasn't coming across as bashing anyone in my comment, because I wasn't. It's all pretty simple. For those that want to avoid the mystery taken out of your searches, just choose not to look at comments until your done. Works for me.
it's supposed to be fun
This one was easy for me. My favorite era (early 70's), the energy in this show is great!
I'm glad I refuse to look at the comments until I've found the answer. It seems that some of the users pretty much give you the answer while some just flat out do! So for those that like to play the game, don't look at the comments until your done, as it's much more fun!
There is a pretty obvious clue in the first verse that distinguishes this version from all the others.
Well that ruined my fun. Let's keep the hints a little more cryptic. This spoiler makes me want to down a frozen lager while walking out in the cold rain and snow. I'd like to tell that asshole below to beat it on down the line. At least come up with something creative.
Made the mistake of reading yesterdays and todays comments before i hunted myself. The cryptic clues are getting pretty specific, if have any interest in hunting yourself do the obvious and read comments after you find the song hehe.
Yeah, I did the same. I'm probably guilty of a few clues that might be a bit obvious, but today's was a freebie. Oh well, still love the tune. I love early Jerry. He could've played anything and I'd dig it!
nailed it on the El
glad i am not alone
very nice indeed
you must stir your coffee with your thumb
second ramble ever played love this version
