That Peggy o is sweet. Very special. Great pick, these last ones were all from my decade with the dead. LOL life is great
I remember this show - it was during the gas shortages and there were huge lines at gas stations in the central valley as we road tripped down from the Bay Area. My only time to San Diego, we had a blast. Beautiful theater, great shows, good times!
Hey all!! Deadhead here from Mississippi. I guess you could say I'm a Mississippi Hippie (okay, that was just ridiculous). Anyway I have been so enjoying this 30 Days of the Dead, and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find the original 30 Days from last year? I have searched and searched, and all of the links I have found are old and dead (no pun intended man!) Any help would be much appreciated, and I hope everyone has a great holiday! Thankx!!
This dude's post has a link to the stuff from last year

Thanks for the mid-solo flubs JG. More importantly, thanks for the more frequent non-flubs. Bet they were really feelin that Mexi-cali Blues.
Great version of a song I love..My favorite is still 9/3/77 but this one has a little bit of a bounce to it that I'm sure will make it good roadtrip-head-bobbing-music.
even using the clues...i am gonna leave it to the ones that deserve it today....great song.....
I've listened to 100 peggy-o's and none are just right. The clues have me befuddled. This may be the end to my winning streak!
The captain has a slightly different relationship with love in this version. Hope that helps.
I hit the download button and it streams. it says right click but I using a mac and want to put little peggy o in my iTunes. Any help out there?
Hold down the control button at the same time you click on the download button & you will have options on saving the file, opening it, etc.
I use two fingers on the touch pad of my air to get the download option
Mac - I just right-click "Download today's free song here" and then click "download file." It should download in the small window and when it's done, click that and it will open in iTunes.
If iTunes is where you want it, you can highlight the song and hit "command-i." that will bring up the info box and you can rename it the correct song name, add the artist name, even drag in the artwork. Tomorrow you'll get the date and place (or today if you know) and then you can "command-i" again and add that. I put it under "album" - like "1977-09-03 - Englishtown Raceway, NJ" so that if you order the dead playlist by album they'll be in chronological order by show.
So I finally figured it out. What amazes me is that Jerry was so awesome and oh so sweet but ultimately so human (as we all know). It is the screw ups that he makes that I use to confirm my suspicion and today's gem was no different. This is so sweet, I have to get the whole show. Damn I love Jerry.
how could one not love Jerry
i love artwork for the tunes this month but i noticed Vol 1 size was 800x800 for dig and cd cover, but Vol 2 size is 1417x1417 for both the dig and the cd cover, will this be a problem later,i read some of the reviews about brent yesterday,my opinion he brought alot to the band his keyboard skills were great and his songs came from his soul.I hoping for a few picks i have in mind for the rest of the month"I had alot of dreams once and some of them came true" Thanks GD for the great music so far can't wait to what's up next.....Happy Trails
If I remember correctly (not near my hard drive right now), the site of this show was also the site of a song used in last year's 30 Days, though the shows are nearly a decade apart. Now if Peggy-O were to marry a builder she'd have....
Is that too much? Sorry, just in a giddy Friday afternoon mood.
for the art should be fixed now. Sorry for the trouble!
I love Peggy O. It's such an awesome song to me and they do such a great version. This one is great and Jerry's voice and guitar sound wonderful.
12/2/73
I think you're about six years too early.
There has been a lot of discussion about hints on the message board, and I have waited until today to weigh in. It's not that my opinion is better than anyone else's, but that it wasn't until today that I realized how much I have come to rely on and enjoy following the hints throughout the day.
I logged on this morning and downloaded the song, listened, and thought - - great. A Peggy-O from anywhere between late 70's - late 80's. I see a clue, so I got to the web armed with the first clue and search.... returning 30+ potential shows. Ok. I am at work. No time to listen to them all. Check back later... got another clue. Check the list again. Narrow it down... ah. It could be... maybe? Check back, Tiger clue. GREAT! Do a little more internet research... GOT IT! Log on this last time... see another clue that confirms my guess. Thank you!
I really enjoy the clue hunting and I thank all of you and your impressive knowledge of all the shows in helping me out. I guess my only other point is that if you really don't want to have your game spoiled by clues, don't read the messages until you have found the show. I do agree that some of the clues should be more cryptic, but then again, some people are simply more clever than others when it comes to writing them.
Bottom line: Thanks to everyone involved for the clues, the discussion, the artwork downloads, and especially, the MUSIC. This has been a wonderful November thus far.
.. indeed there have been days it made the haystack a LOT smaller and I too am very grateful of that, especially when time is not something I have a lot of
Well put, I agree and am grateful for the help.
"one man gathers what another man spills..."
I agree fully, there have been many I couldn't have got without a little hint. There have been a couple I thought I new so I choose not to check the comments till I did a little of my own research. Either way its not worth getting bent out of shape about. After all, if it were not for the fact that The Dead have been one of the most documented bands ever (because of every one sharring shows and info for decades) we wouldn't even have the opprotunity to do this. I say keep the spirit alive and share freely.
it's so easy to love you
This was a real tough one, but I think I finally got it. And if so, I am still undefeated at 18-0. Thanks David.
clear recording and a played great by the band. i have heard this show before, and the whole thing is quite good. maybe I should just burn a disc of it, I think I have it on my harddrive.
thanks david, nice choice.
grabbed a copy for myself last night too. starts out smokin right from the gates and never lets up. i nominate it for a daves pick please. i agree the audience recording sounds awesome, you can hear everyone rockin out in this one even the guy in row 45
show that is pure gold. Thanks again!
Sounds like Jerry's pickin' the custom-made, 13 lb. Tiger guitar.
He sure is. And Tiger was still fairly new at this point. It "roars" in PITB!
A nice little tune. Most fitting.
Peggy O how sweet it is :)
Oh, pretty Peggy-O. Fare thee well now. Such a beautiful song. I prefer the Dylan version though. Again, the archive version of this song sounds better that this one. This show will light your eyes up.
anybody else having trouble downloading the PDF files for the vol 1 back cover and vol 2 front cover?
i think last night the site went down, couldn't post either for a while so i went to bed,but it worked today. you have to do the right click thing like downloading the song. pretty snazzy feature i might say
Yes, looks like they forgot to drop the files into the folder, or the name does not match the link.
The JPEGs are available, and look really nice in iTunes, by the way.
First try! Haha!
Mainly because of the clue they gave us, here:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11423787/3Phase/30%20Days%20Of%20Dead%20Song%20List%20-%202011.txt
what is this link... how about a better clue?
if i had two daughters i'd name the second one peggy-o
great version, but there are so many, as i can attest since i just downloaded about 15 shows in my search through the haystack
heaven help the fool! -not a hint just sayin
if your up for something cool check out the archives 3-17-95 last file at bottom for some interesting preshow warm up playing and banter really neat to be able to hear that.
snagged the rest of this show while i was at it but took a while
love this game !!
Big thrill for me to find it so early, it's like standing on a tower, world at my command...
