Days Of Dead

"Comes A Time"
Hint:
A song that first appeared in 1971 and came and went from the repertoire. It was rare enough that it was always a newsworthy song when the Dead played it right up to its final performance in 1994

"Comes A Time" appeared in 1971, was played in 1972, and then disappeared until 1976. It showed up occasionally for the next decade, but from 1987 to 1994, it was played only seven times.

looking forward to seeing familiar names in the comments. somehow this always sneaks up on me even though i start thinking about it in august. and like the moose out front says, don't post the answers. save it for the next day to boast about your incorrect dates. cause everywhere you go, the people all know, everyone is doin that rag.

Greetings all! Looking forward to playing with everyone over these next days. Surely we can all use some cheer!

A Note to Mary, or anyone behind the scenes — fyi, this file is 192kb. It'd be great to see the usual 320kb on the rest if possible. NOT complaining—I'm very grateful!! Just letting you know.

I literally just had one of those moments where a Dead song hits you for the first time. What a beautiful song.

Always thought this was one of Jerry's most moving & beautiful studio leads, as well as a terrific song with amessage that resonates even more as the hair gets greyer, the guitar fingers stiffer, the memories more precious (if a little dimmer!)

The year is obvious, the exact date not so much. There are a few choices to investigate.

'Just Exactly Perfect'.........Our live in Landlord just kicked the bucket....It will be time to move soon..... A wonderful song to put everything in perspective...sad and extremely nervous about when and where for the move...No home base to move forward to...yet ! GOD BLESS THE GRATEFUL DEAD!!!

In this day and age is it really that much more expensive to offer FLAC lossless files???
I am so very grateful for each of these NOVEMBER downloads..EVERY YEAR...no matter what format....I was just wondering why the 192 mp3 file???

Thanks for such an awesome way to begin the month with this absolutely lyrical version of one of the finest Hunter - Garcia ballads ever.

to everyone! So happy to be back on the Good Ship Dead. And thanks to Dave & Co. for such a poignant and timely choice. Definitely a solid start.

And of course a much bigger THANKS for putting all this joy out there for us to have, hear and hold.

See y'all tomorrow.

P.S. - Almost forgot to mention how much I like this years' cover art. Thanks to whomever the creator/s may be!

Who cares about FLAC! Or fades in/out. Dave should not make it too easy. I can't tell the difference between FLAC or FLIC or 192 or anything else you're discussing. Enjoy the hunt. I've won couple of times on the daily selection, and remember, it only takes 1 correct guess during the month to be in the running for the Big Prize. Dave always tosses a few curveballs during the month, and this may be one. Or maybe not.

Plus one on the art. I think it might be the same individual that created the 50 states of dead Virginia entry T shirt art. I think the last name might be Yarrington, and I see a 'Y' in the corner of the 30 Days art...

Ah, the dreaded cut. Reminds me of an old cassette tape I used to have :-)
